Making sure he is not being associated with the humdrum problems of a lack of testing, localised shortages of PPE, the scandal of the increasing and heartbreaking level of fatalities in care homes among others. He will return when the news climate is less critical.

I've been speculating the exact same thing myself, but have reined back from posting this thought in case I'm accused of being distasteful. It's in stark contrast to the information we were given pre-hospitalisation (in which, and I'm being generous here, the information released was 'managed'). He's been out of hospital now for 10 days IIRC, and we know that he didn't require a ventilator, so I'm wondering how this compares to other recoveries. Given his brilliance at managing his public profile, and also the fact that he is quite obviously an outstanding public communicator, I'm somewhat perplexed by what's been going on. But, then again, I was somewhat perplexed at his withdrawal from the leadership contest in 2016.
On a related note, where is Dominic Cummings?

My misses treated a women yesterday that had lost her husband to the virus, she too had the virus and is about to have her leg amputated (unrelated). She has already missed her husband's funeral.
My misses finally got some PPE though, it's a shame shes not XXL..
If people want to talk politics, they are fully entitled to!

Ten days is not much time to make a full recovery. Obviously everyone is different, but I would guess 4-6 weeks is not unreasonable to make a full recovery. From personal experience getting your brain back into gear after a trauma like this, can be slower than the physical recovery.

But around 12 days after the recovery period began (ie: when we stopped being too worried) she still has trouble talking to me on the phone for more than a few minutes because she runs out of breath. Depending on how you've been affected, it can take a while. Her doctor mentioned 'months'.

Am certainly a lot better but still get exhausted/weak/wobbly very quickly and have to take regular rests during the day.

Yes I know someone who has died from it too. I'm glad your wife has her ppe and I'm sure she's doing a fantastic job and I will be applauding her tonight. I hope she stays safe.

Do you know if all the £1.3 billion of 'stuff' is being delivered in one lot, or is it being staggered - if it's all in one lot then I'll be staggered. If it's being staggered do we know what the rationale is for delivering to those that need it? For example, is it in proportion to each countries need or their order size? If it's order size then I see that being open to abuse as larger and richer countries could deliberately over-order knowing that they'll get a larger proportion of the delivery immediately but not necessarily needing all of it right now. Which raises another question - who's dealing with the logistics of these deliveries? Are they going to a central repository or are they being shipped directly to those individual countries - and if so in what proportion? I doubt that you have the answers to all of these questions but you seem to have many more of the facts than some of us, so I see you as the one to ask.

Also, when you talk about an anti-EU stance, I would advise against using a pro-EU stance too. 'GB got a delivery of PPE today from Turkey that remains sitting in crates on a runway' is extremely pejorative and, as I suspect you know, not true.

I saw something on BBC news channel about this.

Usually the NHS has a trusted list of suppliers who have been vetted and proved they're selling legit equipment. When this kicked off the NHS had about 8000 offers to sell them PPE which was too much for them to cope with as they have to do the checking process, he said that amongst the good offers are a lot of opportunistic companies trying to sell counterfeit PPE.

Some of the legit companies went to the press to say they were being ignored without understanding the system had been overwhelmed
