All that i heard had been said was WE WOULD BE SPENDING ON PLAYERS - IE PERMANENT DEALS - all we have done is short term deals til the end of season and loans - that is what i meant by NOT spending

I think there is a simple misunderstanding by what you consider to be not spending money, and what the other 99.99% of the population consider to be not spending money, which involves no money leaving the bank account.

I presume this board is a bit of relief for you after yourtiresome day of work when your editor removes all the unnecessary words ?

I live my life through my words, they are a body of work that will still be here far after I have departed this existence. In doing so they ensure my immortality.

Are you sure about that? If you live your life through words, does this mean your life is that of a Year 9 pupil with special needs revelling in mediocrity?

As bodies go, decomposition appears to have set in long ago, and your immortality died with it.

Very good, but you're up against stiff opposition on here. Unfortunately you've just shot your comedic load.

You may wish to investigate the work of Croydonilson who is by the far the best wind up merchant on here at present.

You need to post infrequently, but leave a subtle atomic bomb like his post on defending the BBC sitcom "My family".

In your defence you had me a couple of seconds.

But could he have done it with 'Keeping up Appearances'?

You dont get it, we have spent a fortune by our standards, not only on loans, but on signings, Burchill, Jarrett, Carole, plus Davies and 2 others apparently on Monday. What is a permanent deal? No player signs for life, so the players we have signed as BRIGHTON staff are, by your own description permanent. And paying for those players most certainly is spending, there are no other teams in this league doing any more either.

Get over yourself, the board of the Albion are doing just what they said they would, they have made money avaialble, the Manager has found at least 4 permanent signings, all of whom have played at higher levels. The players may have looked around for a club to move to, and have, at the end of the window, made their decisions to come here, perhaps you should go and follow Chelsea or Man City if that is the sort of spending you are expecting.

All I said/meant was we hadn't signed /paid for a player on a permanent (ie like we have done for davies) that is all - all the board are doing is buying Dick Knight out of his f*** up - when was the last time any Brighton manager had so many players as Micky has signed this season

And in English?

It would seem, old chap, that given the amount Mr Adams is being allowed to spend on wages & fees. Perhaps the board are helping Mr Knight out of his rather embarrasing predicament, concerning his previous management faux pas.

What? The board includes Dick Knight, get off your horse about him, he and the rest of the board are spending a fortune on players right now.

And what is the problem with short term deals? They are still permanent deals, as are any deals, it doesn't matter how long the contract is. In the past we signed players on long term contracts, then wished we could get out of them when the players turned out to be not good enough.

By the sounds of things you seem to WANT a lot, MEAN a lot, but don't have a lot of grasp on the situation. One could even be forgiven for thinking you don't think Wilkins should have been sacked. Get over it, it happened, we still have a team to support, with a different mamager, it happenend.

In defence of bhadeb I think that her view of spending money is the same as most had expected. When it was first suggested that ' we had money to spend in the transfer window' most people, natuarally took that to mean we would be buying players not bringing in numerous free signings or loans players and then justifying 'the spending' as being wages hotel bills etc. A simple misinterpretation of the quote by many supporters.

I am however very pleased with the players that have been brought in and feel that they will enable us to climb the table. I can also understand the logic of signing them until the end of the season provided the resources will be made available then to resign the better ones plus others that may be needed.
