What? DK hasn't even spent any money on transfers since Adams has been back. He's making himself and Micky look stupid after taking the huge risk of bringing Adams back.

Why does he think we're in this mess?

Exactly.

The only reason Dick is trying to bring anyone in is because his head is in the guillotine and it's approaching midday.

People moan no players have come in, then when we do there's an excuse for it, he's done what you and the rest of us want and he's done it because it's approaching midday? Just give credit where it's due, all you do is make yourself look pathetic (I'm sure others will disagree and see this is as another opportunity to have a pop at me, but I don't care, it's true, Adams and Knight WANT players in and are doing their best to make that happen.)

In the past 12 months they have bought in 12 players that I can recall, as well as a number of debutants, eg John Sullivan. That seems like a decent record. OK, some of them were on loan, some of them didn't/haven't worked out, but they all cost money to bring in.

Jason Jarrett
Chris Birchall
Kevin Mcleod
David Livermore
Colin Hawkins
Glenn Murray
Johnny Dixon
Seb Carole
Calvin Andrew
Steve Thompson
Matt Richards
Adam Virgo

Very few clubs actually "buy" players at this level, I can only see 7 instances of league one teams actually paying a fee for players since the summer of 2008, check here Sky Sports | Football | League One | January 2009

Maybe this confirms my view that there is going to be a massive clear-out in the summer?

Which is not disappointing, but exciting.

Great, does that mean ,this time next year, the 'lickers' will be saying " We're only bottom of league 2 cos micky had a clear out & the new signings haven't gelled yet, we need to give him more time"? ;)

I posted a comment a while ago, that I had heard from a senior member of the club staff, that the board were intending to spend a lot in this window on bringing in players;

Chris Birchall
Jason Jarrett
Seb Carole
Calvin Andrew

Ok, only till the end of the season which is disappointing, but I bet that lot didn't come cheap (well maybe Carole), all have played at higher levels. We all want to see players in other positions coming into the club, but I don't think we should fault the club for their efforts so far. It is a difficult task encouraging players to the Albion, Withdean, expensive area etc, we have been told that by past managers, and players. DK has vowed not to get the club into a bad financial situation, and he should be applauded for those efforts.

Fingers crossed for one or two more players in, Comon You Super Seagulls!

Apart from wages what have they spent?

ER £2.8 million last year just keeping the club running for a start.

I thought it was around the princely sum of £3.5m (including everyone).

Assuming an average gate of 5,700 (cup games etc.) and an average ticket price of £15 (including STH/pay as yo go etc) = £2.2m. Therefore a shortfall of £1.3m(ish) excluding merchandise/sponsorship etc.

NB The above figures are very rough

Ps Change the KN for T and that will answer your conundrum.

I was referring to the four players that he has signed in January 2009 not what he spent last season - what i understood had been said was that the club would spend money in this transfer (January 2009)

No what was said was "there is money to bring new players into the club"

Maybe that is wages or transfer fees who knows?

Doubt that as MA re-signed Mayo and Hart where as the previous manager knew the right answer.

I am no Divvy bint as you put it

Then why do you not understand simple English?

If you put every penny you had into a business and got the shit that you give to Dick Knight wouldn't you be a little pissed off?

Oh and why target one individual when you damn well know the decisions are made by the board and not just one person?

All I said is that someone on here had said we would be spending money on buying players in Januray that is all - There is NO NEED for people to get shitty about it

Not getting shitty whatsoever and if you listen to people on here it is often misquoted.

There is money to spend on new players NOT we are spending money on transfers. Wages yes that is inevitable but nowhere was anything said about TRANSFER FEES !!

All that i heard had been said was WE WOULD BE SPENDING ON PLAYERS - IE PERMANENT DEALS - all we have done is short term deals til the end of season and loans - that is what i meant by NOT spending
