How are You Going to LISTEN To The Commentary Now Hart and Hawesy Have Been SUSPENDED

These things have a way of building their own momentum.

Now that the mental health charities have pitched into the argument, the BBC will be far more concerned about placating them than satisfying football supporters.

Harty was well aware of the error of his comment. He apologised at the time. I doubt if anyone complained as a result of hearing the programme alone.

It was the aftermath on NSC that provoked the complaint. And the BBC have acted on the complaint that they received.

That will be the end of the phone in. And possibly the full live commentary.

Unfortunately whatever the actions of any individual who posts on here, it all comes down to the fact that what was said on air shouldn't have been. Hopefully it is a suspension and thus temporary rather than something more permanent. Although I'm sure it won't be the end of the commentary.

If this is true then the BBC will have to replace the commentary team.

People have a finanancial contract with Seagulls World/BBC and this 'cannot' be broken. If they think they have had complaints about Harty, just let them remove the live Internet commentary if they want real aggro.

I guess they may get that bloke in who did the Swindon semi final games

I'm sorry, but all of you on here who were calling for their heads ARE to blame. You can't all of a sudden claim it was nothing to do with you when you were the ones still talking about the issue 4 days later.

You're all f***ing idiots, instead of letting that slip of the tongue pass, people had to make an issue of it. Thus the BBC react to complaints from the few morons who probably post on here and two people lose the jobs that they were bloody good at.

By rights everyone should get together on here now and create a petition to get them back, otherwise if there's no commentry, some of you might have to actually come to the football instead of sitting on your arse at home... think how bad that could be!

As others have said, it's not some idiotic witch hunt or anything that's got them suspended, it's the guidelines of the BBC.

Bang on.

I feel BHAFC have strong links with special needs people in the community with the Seagulls-Specials so the comments no matter how off the cuff they were would have flown in the face of the good work they do. If the club got wind of this they may have had something to say about the matter but its only navel gazing.

Again correct. Is the club's objection also 'NSC's fault?

Now that the mental health charities have pitched into the argument, the BBC will be far more concerned about placating them than satisfying football supporters.

Again, more concerned parties, who will feel they have every right to be agrieved. Again, nothing at all to do with 'NSC'.

As buzzer rightly pointed out yesterday, 'NSC' as an entity doesn't exist. Apart from all having a connection to the Albion, all these contributors have little or nothing in common. They all have their own viewpoints, and all NSC provides is a platform to air them.

I hope Hart and Hawes get no more than a reprimand, personally, but that decision will be arrived at through the BBCs pocedures, not by a poll on here.

Do people realise the hard work and effort Harty has put in just to persuade SCR that they need a BHAFC commentary and phone in over the years ?. Its largely down to him he got them to agree to it. I hope the people who directly said he should be sacked are happy now.

Stop talking sense.

The dribbling mass has its blood, so will move on and then moan in a few weeks that the phone in is rubbish and Harty used to do it so much better.

Okay, I've not called for anyone's head [quite the opposite in fact] but;

1. The comments were only made Tuesday night - that's just over two days ago.

2. The bbc, despite what anyone wants to pretend, do not gauge NSC opinion before they act on something. Now, I guess your point is, that some people have only complained, after reading about what was said on here, rather than actually hearing it themselves. None of us know if that is true.

3. A petition ON HERE to reinstate them would be completely unnoticed by his bosses, in exactly the same way as any cristicism would have been.

They will react to complaints made TO THEM, and to letters of support sent TO THEM. Anyone who feels strongly that a wrong has been done, should write to them and tell them, rather than waste their energy throwing accusations around on here.
