Are you suggesting I should aspire to being an ex-copper?
No Edna. Only that you aspire to be half as good as Chris Carter.

Did my first run this saturday just gone did it in; 21:52, popping out in a minute to do a mid-week trial for the weekend. Hoping to get my time below 21 mins.
Good running, how can you leave NSC at such an enthralling moment in time though?
I will run later!
thefatballboy is having a pizza in the front room at the moment to be honest
Popping up t'gym later so will see how long it takes, I am well impressed with some of these times though as it usually takes me about 28 mins I think
30min 40sec? impressed

Trying to work out how fast you'll run it by doing it on a treadmill is a bit like trying to judge how good you'd be at driving by playing Mario Kart.
got to say, I did 5k tonight and it took me 26 mins and didn't think I was going particuarly slow at 9mph?
fair play to you lot that can do it quicker.
Were you on a treadmill? I don't see how the 5k can be that hard unless you're quite fat...it's so short it's practically a sprint, anyone who can't run at 90% for 25 minutes has probably got a bigger problem. It's not even a great test of fitness either - it doesn't last long enough for that - it's just a good wake-up call on a Satdi morning/incentive not to get too f***ed on a Friday night (says I, having managed to get there twice in the past year.) 10k two or three times a week with a competitive version once every month or two is the best for that

Well, it took me 28mins 30secs but that was on the cross country setting that inclines up and down rather than the standard flat setting.
Yes I run it occasionally. The distance is too short for me as I am a marathon runner, however even us long distance guys have a need for speed sometimes.
Does anyone know if there is anything similar at Preston Park as that is 5 mins from me?
