I know weve moved out of Summer holidays now, but Im taking the missus to Vienna for her 50th in November.
Only there for a long weekend, so wont have loads of time to explore - but anything I should be aware of as a "must do"?
Apparently all the Xmas markets start the weekend after we are there - but the price of the holiday that week was triple what we are paying!

Any further info would be very welcome. I'm thinking of working to move my flight to this Saturday if possible and avoid the risk but it's an added expense.

Of course

To give you an idea of how ridiculous this is, there is a plan for the wind blowing one way and another if it’s blowing another way which they will bring in at a moments notice.

From what I can gather plans had been set, (The Vegas flights delayed by 2 hours to miss the closure window/into LGW instead of LHR for example) then more directions were published so it’s back to planning.

I’m hoping there is some push back, but the issue is any push back is met with a “so what”

The 50 percent cap being brought in is the kicker, other wise they would just delay around the windows

Thanks again. Amazingly I've managed to change my flight with Virgin free of charge to the Saturday so hopefully I will miss the nonsense but really appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Off to Orlando. Yes, that's what she said - the funeral was one of their reasons to amend a booking. It really is a farce though and for once I sympathise with the airlines and airport

Have fun, just got back from a couple of days there - Galaxies edge is incredible.

I’m landing back in the UK on Monday, so I’m really not sure what I’m going to do

I have a horrible feeling the public will blame the airlines again.

I'm sure they will. Well good luck for the journey back, hopefully the pilot will have an idea whether he's allowed to land! Thanks again.

Not much though……if Monday’s mid-break, you can stay but all facilities will be shut. If you’re checking in Monday, you now have to wait until Tuesday. Nuts.

Exactly….why do they not just delay entrance for newcomers for a few hours and shut the shops etc from say 10 until 2 ..I’m sure very few would have been put out or complained

So after 3 years of waiting it's holiday time but where in the world am I?
