So Kids travelling with Vaccinated parents only need to be tested 3-5 days after arrival into the USA

They dont need to get a test 1 day before departure to the USA either - its still 3 days before.

Doesnt seem like the 3-5 day test is tracked anywhere either - I an not sure how long it will last

Any word on how close they are checking tests .... IE can you use the do it at home test where you email in results ?

Ive been off for a few days so not 100 percent up to date

From what I can see the form has no tracking number of a test/result number like the Uk form (I’ve only briefly locked) just a tick box to say you will get one done.

The US embassy sent this as well:

Children under 18 are exempt from the vaccination requirement for travelers. However, children between the ages of 2 and 17 are still required to take a pre-departure test.

If a child is not fully vaccinated and traveling with a fully vaccinated adult, they can show proof of a negative viral test taken from a sample within three days before departure.

If a child is not fully vaccinated and traveling alone or with unvaccinated adults, they will have to show proof of a negative viral test from a sample taken within one day of departure.

No mention of test at all !

I’m in later so I’ll see what the update is.

Do look at what the restrictions are once you have arrived in your destination state. Apparently some states (eg New York) require all children over 12 to be double jabbed to enter restaurants, attractions etc.

Seems like there are spot checks, but I’m not sure I believe it.

They just waved people through without really checking paperwork according to people working in the airports

The queues were due to aircraft arriving at the same time and lack of staff

I will probably err on the side of caution with this one and do a test in store somewhere pre trip, rather than a home test.

With BA recently I haven't been able to check online. All done at airport with staff checking docs closely.

Yeah. You need to test before. The airline won’t let you onboard

More the fact if they are not even checking paperwork on the USA side so I imagine the chances of them calling you on day 4 is very low.

It’s just frustrating, either do it it properly and check or don’t bother.

Booked San Diego for next June when Jnr finishes his GCSEs. Taking in a baseball game on July 4th, then fly back on the 6th.
All 4 of us will be double jabbed, so hopefully a lot easier than the previous two Summers to get away....:unclesam:

No issues for us at all with BA online check-in last week - you need to use the Verifly app to confirm vax status etc then online check-in is available.

Shepherds Hut in a meadow overlooking the Axe Valley ..just south of Axminster….just a few nights, but it’ll be the first time I’ve had more than weekends off since February …knackered

I joined Lloyds Bank at 18, Axminster was my first branch, I spent 3 years there lodging with a mad old woman - a retired teacher. On the plus side, she also used to take in French students, was a fantastic cook and she had a swimming pool. :p

No pool but it does have an outside shower (inside as well)…but seeing as its cold water only and December I’ll be giving it a miss…I will definitely be making use of the firepit and log burning stove! Just hope it’s not wet/windy

Ahhh yes I did verifly coming back from the Bahamas a couple of weeks ago and the feckers at the airport still wouldn't let me through security without a paper boarding pass.

Verifly also didn't enable online check-in from Mykonos or Krakow over the summer.

Not horrendous, but travelling especially with BA has got a tad more frustrating.

Checked in last night to fly home (BA), simply had to show VeriFly ‘pass’ for us both plus passports - nothing else checked. Was able to check in online after completing VeriFly info too.
