Even I as a self confessed Colin hater will admit he had a half decent game last night. I still think though that at several key moments he was doing the usual.
(1) Bollocked by the manager for appearing on the left when he is playing on the right.
(2) Strolling back past the halfway line when the Germans have 2 on 1 against his full back
OK he run around a bit more than normal (i.e he actually did break out of jogging mode). He didn’t, however, show the determination of say Swiensteiger who would have run through a brick wall in order to make the cross for the first goal or even Ballack who has achieved 10 times more in the game than CKR ever will busting a gut to defend when he realised his team were short handed. He has undoubted potential but I’ll be amazed if there is a manager in the world who can get him to perform week in week out. In Colins world, the team revolves around him.

You know, people like you, you think and view everything precisely at the moment in time. You forget what happened last week and the week before that. If we had lost 4-0 the week before and win this time round, we're going up!
CKR was really not good for us at all and I'm sure the majority on here that are NOW hailing him didn't think he was very good either.
Now because CKR is an international 'star', more people jump on the bandwagon that McGhee was shit and didn't know how to handle him. CKR is an an arrogant barstard, he acts that way in football and he acts that way in life (I know because I had the unpleasant experience of meeting him). McGhee doesn't want those kind of people in his squad and quite frankly I certainly wouldn't either.
Stop blaming McGhee for 'not being able to do anything with his talent' because there was no great talent to acknowledge and even if there was, no amount of talent in the world excuses his disgusting attitude.

Excellent post. NMH has a worrying obcession almost on a pyscotic, stalking level of rubbishing McGhee at every chance. I really think they must have had a run in at some time as there is no other logical explanation for his ridiculous viewpoint on McGhee. Also McGhee converted Virgo from a workmanlike central defender to a striker whose goals kept us in the Championship as he did not have money for a new striker but of course that was probably down to someone else.

The real problem is that CKR knew he had talent and could play at a higher level and some people on here won't forgive him for that.

CKR never played for Brighton, he played for himself and was probably a major influence in the outbreak of poor discipline at this club Robinson and Coxy etc... they watched this obviously talented player treat the management and our club with disrespect. In his defense he was very young and maybe he has matured but I can see him disappearing as quickly as he appeared, do we get a sell on clause on the sell on clause if he leaves Fernabache.and finally I would take Nicky Forster over CKR every day for the rest of my life and the one true ex Brighton superstar is Bobby Z

So well my arse, magoo is at least in a league where he belongs, and at a level they will be able to say is 'a high one' - instead of the English 1st division - which is about the same par.
I could care less what he does elsewhere ....as long as it is elsewhere.

Some people won't forgive him for his effortless spell, when he was blatently better than all those sub-par performances he put in for the club. I don't think anyone has chastised him for wanting to move on to better things, but it was quite clear from the outset that he wanted them immediatly. I think most people realise that we are a selling club and welcome those that are keen to better themselves, BUT as long as they work for their transfer!

CKR has got talent. But not THAT much talent. His rise through the ranks has been ludicrous. Pure proof, if any were needed, that a lot of managers are just winging it, and are really not that much better a judge of a player than the fans. Sometimes the manager patently knows LESS about a player's worth than the fans. Not mentioning Doug Loft in particular...
