I think the worst case scenario is Bloom being hit by a bus on his way to the newsagents this morning.
Or, I don't know, being attacked by a shark on a visit to the aquarium.
Some inconvenience around the manager doesn't really register in the scheme of things.
Or a man in a shark suit ???

I think most recruitment teams probably have longer memories than a goldfish. If he leaves he will be offered decent jobs around Europe including the PL imo

They did ‘beat us ‘ to Kudus but are now in a position where he can go if another club pay the reported release clause.
So did they really win that one?
How much is the reported release clause? Even with a release clause it’s still a much better deal than loaning Ansu Fati. So yes, I think they won.

Nobody wants me anymore, I think I'll stay where I am.......Until maybe Utd call, or Bayern come back. But if they don't I'll stay. Great way to go into the summer and prep for next season.

I don’t see TB allowing that to happen. Gut feeling is that things will move very fast as soon as the season ends, one way or t’other. We will not be spending millions on the type of players the manager wants to work with when he is not committing himself long term by signing a new contract.

New contract or new manager before the bulk of the summer spending is spunked imo
This, it works both ways. If he wants the budget increased I imagine he’ll need to sign a new contract either longer in term or with a bigger release clause (he will get a payrise I’m sure)

Yes, things will move fast but again, he doesn’t not need to sign a new contract, just commit to one more season under his current one and for us to improve the squad to his liking for another bash at Europe and a cup final - if he says he will be here next season then he will be committed 110%.

Squads can change quite radically from season to season, players come and go, especially young ones (out on loan, don’t work out etc) - doubt the Club would make major investment for a manager, whoever is in charge, other than that we could normally sustain. However, our style of play isn’t going to radically change all of a sudden if RDZ doesn’t start next season, every successive manager we have had in the EPL has built play on the foundations left by the previous manager and that’s been a process over a few seasons and quite a few windows.

In short, the Club will be spending money with a view to us making another European and Cup challenge next season, regardless of who is in charge.

I do think maybe some people are maybe over estimating the number of new players we will actually still need once we have March, Mitoma, Enciso, Hinshelwood and Pervis back in condition. We already have Osman signed up and a very promising left sided player in Barco.

The club don’t sign players based on who the manager is, we have a model, one of the main reasons for working like this rather than letting a Harry Redknapp type bankrupt us is that if one manager leaves then another comes in who can work to this model.
Have a read of the comments (moaning) of Ange the Spurs saviour regarding needing to tear their squad up, must do wonders for player moral….

Wasn’t that the thinking in January though? We’ll be fine once the injured players are back. The squad is about 3 senior players light IMO (by senior I mean 23 to 28 years old).

we are 2 or 3 midfielders short , we need a right back and at least 2 centre backs ,
Milner , lanlana and Welbeck can’t play 90 mins ,
we need in My opinion at least 6 new players, plus replace any players that are leaving

That is not what I said - I said that I thought some people were maybe over-estimating the amount of money we might need to spend to make another challenge for Europe (some people are talking 6 ‘decent’ established Premier League ready players even a complete overhaul of the squad - I think that is probably unrealistic, too expensive for us and not necessary - I have suggested previously that another 3 players DM, a RB and maybe a lateral mf/right inverted winger (who can play both sides) might be enough. Si we are probably in agreement then.

We sign on average, 6-7 players most summer windows. Thats just normal turnover. (eg: Pedro, Igor, Milner, Baleba, Verbruggen, Dahoud ) - Previous summer - less so - but still Enciso, Estupinan, Gilmour , Adingra and summer before - Mitoma, Cucurella, Sarmiento, Mwepu, Scherpen, Sima .
But the model is the model. Barber confirmed that and, the wage structure was still very much still in place - although they were looking to strengthen the squad in the summer.

Why is spending > £35m on three players the benchmark for strengthening the squad. Ask Chelsea how that works out.
