He has made a lot of reference to wanting to talk to Tony properly. I think he gets fed up when he is fobbed off by Barber (and I think Barber gets fed up being in the middle) and wants more direct contact with the real boss. His latest comment was he had 20 minutes with Tony. The suggestion being “only 20 minutes”.

Come on Tony spend a whole day and give him some Tony love. I think that’s all he needs.

De Zerbi has been a breath of fresh air the last 20 months. 100% behind him

I find it fascinating that seemingly TB has only spent 20 mins with RDZ recently, when you consider all the speculation of the past few months. But maybe that’s the poker player in Tony. Perhaps he wanted RDZ to go through this, banking on him not getting the move he (possibly) wanted.
And now Tony is in a stronger position.
Just speculation of course - and I know if I’d been in charge I would probably have massively over-promised to RDZ after getting in a panic that he’d leave!

My fear is that the summer break passes, the Club struggle to land their targets and RDZ leaves us on the eve of a new season. It may be best for all parties if a decision is made sooner rather than later. Shame though, it's been fun.

That is indeed the worst case scenario.

I don’t see TB allowing that to happen. Gut feeling is that things will move very fast as soon as the season ends, one way or t’other. We will not be spending millions on the type of players the manager wants to work with when he is not committing himself long term by signing a new contract.

New contract or new manager before the bulk of the summer spending is spunked imo

Other slightly worrying thing is that we need to do business now while other clubs are still concentrating on the season (like we did with Pedro). Otherwise we will have the tedious shoot out for players with about 5 other teams (copying us) who will pay more.

Side note I find it interesting that west ham seem to be after every target we have now.

In vaguely unrelated news, does TB live in the UK during the season or fly back and forth to Oz? Can't imagine a more impractical set up, having your wife and kids in Oz while juggling a football club over here, not to mention all the knuckle dragging mullet-headed sleeveless t-shirt wearing Antipodeans you'd encounter, and that's just the Sheilas. Absolute shitemare.

The dull part of the south coast
As per the article posted on here from The Telegraph.
Sorry, forgot I need an A level in English to participate on this forum.
It is best nobody reads any transfer news in the papers this summer, as commenting on it will get you a response as above.
Nothing to do with education at all, just the description. Yes, by all means read about transfer news and comment about it. You will be answered accordingly with replies that you agree or disagree with - that’s what a forum is all about.

I don't want RDZ to stay if we continue on our current path. Sort it out big time or just go please.

How do you know that that is not happening? The club keep recruitment issues close to their chest until the deal is done. By the way, I refer you to us getting Ibrahim Osman for a bit of early doors business. Deal done at end of January to sign officially on 1st of July - West Ham (again!) spitting feathers and blowing bubbles as they prevaricated over pennies and lost out. :tantrum:

They did ‘beat us ‘ to Kudus but are now in a position where he can go if another club pay the reported release clause.
So did they really win that one?

Barber is the CEO. Bloom isn't going to override him.

RDZ must know this so I'd be surprised if he thinks he being fobbed off and feels he is having to discuss everything with the 'organ grinder's monkey'.

Barber is CEO and deputy chair and is paid big money to take all the key decisions. In order to get the club where Bloom wants it to be. You don't buy a pedigree dog and bark.

I think people are reading far too much into RDZ's comments.

As usual.

Very much agree with this. I think it's more likely now that RDZ will stay, and we'll be buying players with that assumption. I suspect there's a few players we've been tracking (and have probably been mentioned before) that we'll go for - players like James McAtee from City and Yaser Asprilla at Watford.
