And yet he got a muted reaction from the majority of BHA players on the Amex pitch after the Chelsea game.
That was notable, for example Dunk.

Interesting how there were so few smiles and no warmth towards the world class coach to whom they literally owed everything.

Big call for the American - sack Potter and side with the big ego players who don’t seem to want to play for him and the vocal fans or stick with him and take the flack until it comes good.

I’ve got no doubt that Potter will get it right but it will take time and for the American the easier call is to say he got it wrong and sack him

Just read this comment on The Shed

"This is more the manager than the players. The team is now reflecting the personality of the manager.

Imagine sitting at a table and everyone is eating ribeye and lobster.

And there is one precious little cupcake eating a salad with tomato and cucumber.

That precious little cupcake would be Potter"

They don't seem very happy
Some said much the same about Potter when he managed us. They were wrong.

Still, the callers to 6-0-6 who follow Chelsea are saying positive things.

The wanker element are probably somewhere else, powdering their noses while tweeting ???

Whilst you a feeling sorry for Millionaire PL football managers there was a recent poster on here saying he skips meals to make sure his daughter eats at every meal time.
That real pressure not losing a few games of football.
context;

so that unfortunate chap can fill his boots then, and the others?

Just saw one say ‘he doesn’t deserve Chelsea’. Tbf to him - no he doesn’t and it was an awful decision to join that arrogant entitled club having worked well for a decent one for 3 years or so. But he made his bed…

£22m they gave us didn’t they? Oops.

I see Potter said he “understands the supporters frustration” post-match. Makes a change, all he ever told us to do was to shut up and learn our history.
He said something like that once.

He said "maybe I need a history lesson" because he thought the fans of a team, which had struggled in the past, had booed a 0-0 result against Leeds. He believed that Brighton fans after going through a very tough time for many years would have a bit more understanding that football isn't easy. He probably also thought that Brighton fans going through all of that wear and tear through the decades would be a little less snowflakey than angrily crying themselves to sleep for years over a throw-away comment after a disappointing game. But obviously he was wrong: there's some very fragile, entitled snowflakes among the supporters.

Well, the only alternative for that group of players would be for them to take a vote on who should be the next manager. I don’t think that would be in the interests of the club (although I don’t really care tbh).
They won the CL last time they did that

You won’t be able to sell every player that has issue with the manager

In which case Chelsea need to get rid of those players and back GP.
Logical, but as we all know it's far cheaper to replace the manager than a fire sale of players with a combined value of hundreds of millions.

If it happened, that would be the ultimate backing of Potter and the program. But in reality, it's highly unlikely.

When chairmen have to pick a side in these circumstances, it's invariably the players that win out.

But who is going to manage them?

Tuchel said this summer that he had a bunch of players that didn't want to play for Chelsea.

It was obvious then and it is obvious now that a lot of people in that club hate Chelsea, their fans, their teammates, their manager, and are full of love for themselves.

That comes down to recruitment: if you sign a lot of players without doing psychological profiling, you have a good chance to end up with a bunch of egomaniacal ****s.
Do you reckon they did a psychological profile on Potter?
Serious question here, as you have seen a lot more of his press conferences than we all have, do you think he has developed a bit of a big head since you first got interested in him?

When he first took over was he chopping and changing straight away, or stick to one basic idea to get people playing a certain way?

He’s got Sterling playing at Wing Back, then winger, then forward.

Players can’t get momentum
maybe cos he keeps sulking?

It was very obvious the players weren't very impressed.

Have to say as a group they do appear to be very close currently.

Terry, Drogba, Cole and Fat Frank got rid of several Chelsea managers, speaking directly to Abram.

Then will the help of a £1b or two, won more silverware.

Its what Manchester United is doing, what Arsenal did and what Chelsea will need to be doing in order to be successful. Or they'll just have another players-vs-manager situation any time someone tell them to do something else than walk around believing they are Gods gift to mankind.

They’re in a similar position to where Man Utd were with Moyes, it would have come good in the end (Moyes is too good a manager) but they opted for the sack option and have only just started to recover.
