It's in Bali.

That's not Harveys, it's much stronger. More like a Bali wine...

Was that when Bonny was master of all of Europe?

No, but one of the Taxman's less pleasant England Away associates used to drink in there.

I started watching a film last night called One Nite in Mongkok. I fell asleep after 15 minutes, but not because i'd got an eyeful of mongkok.

You didn't miss much. The sequal is much better, Brunch in Bottyville.

Some of the guest ales served by Greene king pubs are ok....The oak sells old speckled hen and my local, the tally ho sells moorlands original which, when the keg is new, goes down as smoothly as a good pint of Harvey's.

I thought the Volunteer only sold weak lager and alcho-pops. Didn't realise volly drinkers had ever heard of real ales :lolol:

Do not think the person you are referring to was an England awayer.

Made a centre spread in the Mirror following a game in Switzerland where he decided to kick someone's head around the stadium.

That would have been a long time ago, not sure he has been for an age.

Glad to hear it.

The Stamford Arms, London SE1 always has Harvey's on.

This is 5 mins walk from Blackfriars Bridge, towards Waterloo, and my local (office) boozer. It also shows the cricket on Sky so that's my lunchtime temptation in the summer.

Lord B. - to say The Swan is not in Lewes is like saying the Dripping Pan is not in Lewes (both are in Southover). A rather parochial view.

Good call PG! At last a positive response. I've never heard of it, but will check it out as it is indeed walking distance from my office.

A splendidly parochial view, in my opinion!

Years and years ago, the deal between Beard's and Harvey's was that Harvey's would have NO pubs in Lewes and Beard's would have NO pubs outside Lewes.

That's why the Swan is a Harvey's pub.

I don't know whether this dates back to the days when even Harvey's Brewery wasn't in Lewes.

As a bonfire boy, you'll be well aware of how important the ancient boundaries are.

PS - any truth in the rumour that Southover will be marching on the 3rd this year?

Ever helpful TLO, thank you. It's a bit further away from me than the MP unfortunately but I will still peruse it's interior nevertheless.
