Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
I was attacked by a Boomslang (Tree snake) which is meant to kill you within 5 minutes of a bite.

The Hippopotamus is a fun-loving creature that kills more people than Crocodiles, in Africa.

Think you might have to be a bit more specific.

I was based at RAF Hereford in the ealy 80's which at the time was the Royal Air Force Catering College. We were well hard.

This fucker:

I reckon 8 groups of 4 is far more representative of animal hardness on the whole.

How about:

Land (Africa)
Land (Americas)
Land (Asia)
Land (Other)
The Skies
The Seas
The Rivers
and one other group?

nice idea matt, but that would a) require a knowledge of where said animals come from and b) take up half the front page...

I vote for the South American Fire Ant.

When they attack another creature it normally ends up dead.

150 people a day die to these suckers.

In the US, the FDA estimates that more than US$5 billion is spent annually on medical treatment, damage, and control in RIFA-infested areas. Furthermore, the ants cause approximately US$750 million in damage annually to agricultural assets, including veterinarian bills and livestock loss as well as crop loss

Hardcore destructors!

We've had loads of nominations but not too many being seconded.

So far we have:

IN
Polar Bear (reigning champ)
Crocodile(2007beaten finalist)
Honey Badger(charismatic peoples champ-although knocked out in the quaters last time round)
Hippo(vanquished the honey badger in 2007)
Buffalo(can't remember how it did last time round, so probably not so well. Maybe it's been in training)

Then we have a few that have kind of been seconded:
Ants:soldier, bulletand south american fire ants have all been nominated once, and someone nominated ants as a whole, so ants should be in just need to decide which ones.

Cats:two nominations so should be in, I'm just a little dubious that cats really belong in a worlds hardest creature contest...

Gorilla: technically two votes although I'm not sure Nibble was being entirely serious with his nomination of the rare glory hole gorilla...

Frogs:eek:ne vote for the poisonous tree frog and one picture of a frog(dunno what kind of frog though) so frogs are IN but again need to work out which one.

Jellyfish:I think Mattbackhomes pic is a jellyfish and so is one of SirAlbion's. need someone to confirm though as I'm a bit of a waterbased creature no-knowledge no-mark.

Snakes:eek:ne vote for the Fierce Snake, one pic of a snake and a story about being attacked by a snake. Snakes are IN, but what kind?
Nominated but not seconded
Wolverine
The Orca
Bullshark
tiger shark
Great White Shark
Black Bear
Brown Bear
Kangaroo
Cockroach
Japanese Giant Hornet
Collossal Squid
Baboon
Sea Snake
Swan
Scorpion
Komodo Dragon
Mosquito
Stingray
Tas Devil
Wombat
Bird Eating Spider
Hyena
Phillipine Eagle
Man
Mongoose
Tiger
The Viagra beetle(?!)
Lion

So it's now up to the good animal loving folk of NSC to get seconding and putting forward any late nominees. The tournament proper is sure to start sometime soon.

well team shark HAS to be in, as does the ORCA, there should be a BIG CAT entry, and the EAGLE should be in as there is a distinct lack of AIRBORN beasts

and get that horrid squid thing in
