Haemorrhoids

For around three months now I've been suffering from haemorrhoids. I've been to my doctor and he has burst two on my last couple of visits. The pain afterwards has been unbearable and felt like having a red hot poker up my bottom. Afterwards I usually bleed for around a week following treatment (not a lot but enough for me to have to use baby wipes).

I have two more which have developed recently through bowel straining. As I suffer from constipation, they just seem to be inevitable. Tried laxatives and powdered drinks but going to the toilet in the day makes the area worse. It can get incredibly itchy and have to have some privacy when I'm out and about to scratch; not easy at this time of year.

Has anyone on here had an operation to soften the rectum area or been cured of piles? I've never been embarrassed about seeing my GP or other specialists. Please PM me if you don't want to discuss this publicly.

Thanks and a happy Christmas.

Can't give any advice, but noticed your Sid the Sexist avatar and this sprung to mind.

I hope someone comes along shortly to give you some sound advice which will sort your problem out.

Is there anything in your diet causing them? I gave up peanuts, and said goodbye to that problem!

What the fook were you doing with peanuts?

There's a clue in the word "diet". Actually, I was overdosing on crunchy peanut butter. Then I understood what my dad meant about them not liking him!

Thats a little bit funny and of course totally irrelevant to your haemorrhoids cure ..................

How is it irrelevant?

Co-codamol which has been reduced significantly although I'm still on a fair dosage. That was for discolating my knee and I have to say that was less painful than having piles burst.

Check out River Plate''s Leo Ponzio on youtube. His piles burst during a match wearing white shorts! I feel his pain....
