Spot on. Would just add the two young goalies and Cook and Brinkhurst and possibly Tunnicliffe and keep it at that. Shame a few are on contracts past the summer because like Livermore, Hawkins and McCleod they wont move on as no-one will offer them the same financially decent deals!

All three of those who you mentioned are out in the summer.

I expect Virgo has it in his contract that he is guaranteed to be at the club as a player until he is 65 irrespective as who is boss !!!!

He's gone on loan to Eastleigh. Got sent off after about 20 minutes of his first game apparently.

Yep but on their fans forum they are pleased with how he has done.

It's a shame though that he has not even got an opportunity.

Why have a youth policy? They say if they are good enough then they will get a game, not the case it seems that even in the reserves opportunities are limited for young players !

I think that their opportiunities will be limited all the time we struggle with the first team. Once that is sorted and in a position to challenge for promotion as is TB and GP aim then the odd youngster will get the opportiunity with suspensions and injuries, but you/we cannot afford to just take a chance on 3 or 4 youngsters until then.

i think one of the reasons is its a huge step up from youth / reserves to the
1st team so they like them to get some competetive mens football under there belts for confidence etc , i mean could you imagine slinging on steve cook or brinkhurst or ide with 10mins left on the clock at the withdean and the first thing they do is not control the ball and it slips out of play, there would be an almighty sigh and then every fucker on here would be slating them for weeks .
also mitch walker is a good very good keeper but only just started training after a broken wrist so he also needs to go on loan for a month or two

No, I can't imagine slinging on Cook for the last 10 minutes at Withdean, especially against premiership opposition.:shootself

Virgo won't make it until the end of the season. He'll be one of the first out in January. A little trip down the South Coast for him me thinks!

Southampton or Bournemoth? It would be ironical if he became a regular in a team higher than us in the league with possibly equal or more ambition due to their new owners.

Still a big jump from possibly being good for those teams to 1st team at a Div 1 club.

Its the transfer window in the summer (and maybe this Christmas) is where Poyet will have to earn his money and where he will be judged. Both Adams and Slade had (for this division) serious money to spend, and they failed to create a winning side. Then they were understandably sacked. Poyet has to buy well, we cant have yet another £million p!ssed up the wall by another manager

People are complaining and comparing possible purchases with MA 2nd time which I dont think is fair on MA. He recently did an interview and was asked about his return to us beinga failure and he said and I quote" Had I known about the in fighting of the board and that I wouldnt be given a chance to rebuild the side I wouldnt have gone back".
So obviously all was not well and he was not given money to spend at will which would explain why all the players signed by him were free transfers or loans.

Now we have a chairman who has the money to buy players perhaps we shall see better players coming in, if Murray is an example of the ability of possible incomers I will be pleased.

A bit naive to listen to the excuses of the bloke who failed and who is trying to pass the blame for his failure onto someone else. Adams bought Hawkins and the rest. Adams tried to build a hoofing team and Adams spent money and failed to build a winning side - as did slade. They both had money to spend and they both failed.

Adams didnt buy Hawkins he signed him and all of the others on free transfers. He has now left however and we are left with a chairman with the financial ability to be a chairman of a professional club rather than Crawley or Lewes and that is not to degrade DK as he served us well doing what he could do best but he didnt have the finance to push us on when needed. Tony Bloom has.
