If we fail to get promoted this season due to lack of goals despite having a very good midfield and defence, as we did last season, will Tony lose his patience and get rid of Gus:albion2:

Why do I sense this one heading in the direction of yet another "Mutts Nuts slags off CMS" thread?

For what it's worth, I don't see it being a problem.

I'm not sure we'll go up, but I don't think that will be because of a particular lack of anything and nor will it do us any long term harm.

It's all planned out don't you worry. An improvement this season is fine, but Tony will want a serious push next season

Oh dear

What on earth has he done wrong? We have one of the smallest budgets in the league, be greatful we've got a great team, great manager, great set of fans and a great board. We wouldn't be able to attract any better than Poyet.

I'm sure TB has not brought in Bruno, Bridge, Crofts and Kuszczak for just an improvement on last season. He wants Prem now

Please just ring the Samaritans for goodness sake!

Edit. Something I don't fully understand is that 99% of the threads this guy starts are miserable, yet always signed off with the little homo cheery albion thingy ??

No - strikers who can guarantee you 20+ goals cost an absolute mint. That'll be the reason we don't go up, if we don't - money.

I think with the exception of Wayne Rooney or Carlos Tevez, I don't think there's a striker around who would score 20 goals for us. The secret to goals is service, and as our stats proved, we dont provided enough service to have a 20 goals a year man.

This. If TB wants promotion now, he must spend the cash on that striker.

Lack of goals last season, will be repeated without that striker, and another season in Championship 2013/14.

Typical , you had to pick Rooney and Tevez and leave out Barnes :jester:

It`s not an if , it`s a we wont, we wont score goals win games and get promotion we have only improved our defence, with 1 addition to midfield.

It's all about building a sustainable squad to go up with. Of course they are going for it, but no one will lose their job at the end of this season for finishing 7th-10th if we get more points, score more goals, play good football. We also have a few players out of contract end of this season that will open more doors for Poyet.

No, but we know how much Gus wants to be in the Premier League. He says he'll stay while we keep improving, but will we improve enough?
