If its true he didn't pass a medical realting to the ankle break. Then the club could indeed be finding it a problem to arrange 'curtailment' cover through a broker or syndicate. I know of a least 5 or 6 Lloyds Syndicates who write such cover. The insurance will indemnify the club against shelling out a large fee and then that player not being able to perform for them as a result of and injury for the duration of his contract ie having to retire. If whilst negotaiting the insurance it is apparent there is a discrepancy with any medical undertaken significant exclusions or additional premiums could occur. As this is likely to be the Albion's record signing of well in excess of a million pounds I imagine it would be quite a significant deal. Most medicals of this type have to be undertaken by a independent source.

For once,that sounds pretty plausible.

Is it not worth noting that if it has been found that his ankle might pose a problem, then we would not actually be signing the Lua Lua player pre-injury.

So I would guess that insurance etc is relevant, however this isnt a game of top trumps, it might actually be that there is a risk of him being not being physically able to compete to the level that he could previously.

So the club have a real stake in ensuring he is as fit as is acceptable to Poyet, Bloom and the medical staff before agreeing any fee.

The obvious solution would be a 5 month (non recall) Loan deal with a guaranteed option to buy at todays agreed price in the January transfer window.

We can put it to the test

Albion midfielder Jake Forster-Caskey is hoping to help England under-17s to the knockout stages of their age group World Cup in Mexico by beating Canada tonight.

Forster-Caskey was a threat from set pieces as England won their opening group fixture 2-0 against Rwanda in Pachuca on Sunday.

Tonight’s tie sees England boss John Peacock, whose side are on course for the last 16, go up against his brother-in-law Rob Gale, who is Canada’s assistant coach.

Canada lost 3-0 to Uruguay in their first match. Kick-off is at 6pm local time, midnight in the UK.

I still think it just haggling. However if there is a medical issue, this sounds like a good solution to me.

Which makes sense if we're looking to negotiate a new deal following a medical problem.

come on we're desperate and need more than that dingodan what does the Argus say?

That still lines up with the medical failure, personal terms agreed, re-negotiating due medical issues?

Yep. I think in the argus it mentioned that the medical had caused some delays if I remember rightly. But still very confident on getting our man.

Also 3 or 4 other things being done at the mo.

I have a feeling we will be sorting a prem loan signing over the next couple of days, possibly from Spurs? Maybe John Bostock? The Source for this is my waters.
