If you want to interpret Poyet's comments as being racist, you can. Oliver Holt has decided he wants to be offended by them. That's fair enough, I would imagine a lot of poeple would agree with him. I think it was fairly popular opinion on here that the comments Poyet made about the whole Suarez affair were terrible and he should have kept quiet. I hope he doesn't get drawn into any kind of row with Holt, there's only one winner. I quite like him, for what it's worth. I think his column is interesting and more often than not accurate and reasonable. I find him agreeable more often than not.

Yes his comments were ill advised and timed but he thought he was doing the right thing and was trying to defend his mate. I certainly never thought he was racist, just a bit naive and I feel for Holt to bring it back up now 6 months later is pathetic.

Personally I dont like Holts journalism and regularly disagree with him. He is very self important, even more so than most of the sport journalists in this country.
