He is a man, who for better or worse will have the ear of certain people. It's not wise to make enemies of the press, in this game..Or people who are legends in the game. Mud sticks im afraid.

Do you think Poyet is a racist? Or is this faux outrage to have YET ANOTHER pop at the best manager in our history?

Holt is pathetic. The original tweet from the bloke from the Independent had NOTHING to do with Gus' racial comments and was simply a tweet about how Gus could become Chelsea manager a few years down the line. Holt chose to reply with an unrelated, sensationalist comment about a serious and sensitive subject. I have little problem with people disagreeing with Gus' comments, but they had absolutely shit all to do with the original tweet. Disgusting journalism.

The Press are not at the top of the food chain, the fans are. The day that football fans have to watch their Ps and Qs around the Press, that would be a dark day.

Cattlin, Lloyd, could also be thrown into that argument.Over last 30 years. Poyet has done a great job, but greatest ever...leave it out.

o i agree..which is why i wouldn't use that term...but i wouldn't say he is no where near.

Cattlin....to this day i can't understand why he was given the push

are you saying he never said them things?

No, I wish he'd just kept out of it tbh. He was sticking up for a friend though, doesn't mean he's a racist

No further response.
As an aside, I know Twitter isn't a school of grammar, but "are you saying he never said them things?", from a professional journalist, is a bit rubbish isn't it.

Alan Mullery, Mike Bailey anyone?? Poyet has won the division one title..Some way to go yet before he is anywhere near the best manager in our history.

Definitely not Mike Bailey.

No, I'm sorry, I think you misunderstand; I've never heard of him, who is he?

If the twat did a bit more research and used his brain as well, he would know what Poyet was trying to get at all those months ago.

Definitely not Mike Bailey.

It all very much depends on your criteria. Mike Bailey achieved this clubs highest ever league position. Mullery took us through the division's and into the top league with a lot of backing. Cattlin got us to an Fa cup quarter final, and a point from the top division, after selling off almost all of the cup final team and building a team of free transfers, bargain buys and proven experience. Lloyd got us promotion and to a play off final and 90mins from the top flight, while working under the worst board in the clubs history. Adams first time round, what McGhee done is not to be sniffed at. Poyet has done a very good job, with a lot of backing and I do hope he carry's it onward's and upward's. But pound for pound he has done no more as yet, with the means at his disposal than the other forementioned managers of our football club.

Its intriguing about bailey isn't it...we got to our highest position ever...on grinding out results...if i remember correctly crowds weren't that happy with the style of football...which was often slow...playing it sideways etc..didnt he eventually get sacked for us being boring?.my memory is hazy ..but i remember the crowds reaction well....its a style that isn't a million miles from where we are now.

Bailey .is he still alive? would be a great halftime guest when we play wolves next year

"I'm not suggesting he is a racist. Just think it was a dumb thing to say"

His tweets would suggest otherwise!
