Pork pie land.
That would be a brilliant signing and could happen. Being that Deigo is from Uruguay and he might want another chance to play in England. Saying that I still think he would move to a premier league team.

Not saying that you are wrong. However, the way Gus spoke about a record transfer fee, it is likely to be someone who costs a big fee (well over £1m). Surely Forlan would cost big wages?

Can we just FORGET this Forlan lark once and for all ? The only "link" is that he happens to come from the same patch of land as our manager.

1. He'll be on megabucks
2. He's regularly playing in one of the best and most high profile leagues in Europe
3. He is a current International

Even if Forlan fancied a move back to England, he is NOT going to drop down into the 2nd division to do it.

Next.

Please people, stop this Forlan talk, are you on hard drugs??!! Like Owen there is NO WAY we will see Forlan in the stripes next year.
He was the best forward at the world cup last year for christ sake. Andy Keogh quite maybe, Deigo Forlan, NO CHANCE.

We have more chance of signing Deigo Maradona, than Deigo Forlan. FFS we are Brighton and Hove Albion, and some on here would do well to remember that. I know its an exciting time for us, but Deigo Forlan really? He was arguably the best striker in the World cup 12 months ago. I think sights should be set more realistically.

OMG... anyone who seriously thinks Diego Forlan is a potential signing for Brighton and Hove Albion needs to go and seek medical help straight away. Please try and use a modicum of common sense before you post tripe on here that will make us laughing stock for fans of other clubs. Seriously, just think before you post this shite.

look all I am saying is lets get this in perspective.

we have all on here at various times slagged off in a self rightous way other clubs for "spending beyond their means" and slagging off clubs who have owners who splash the cash....Abramovitch, Glaziers etc....now it looks as though we are doing the same, so I sincerely hope that we have the finances available to do this ( outside of Bloom) that can support such spending!

At the end of teh day, bloom built us a spankingly new horrendously expensive stadium, that Knight hinted the banks would not finance....so hopefullty our business model is based on income from football and the stadium, rather than asking bloom to turna card and finance buying players

As excited as I am by this 'new era' and the optimism that, I'm totally with you, mate. I do not want us to end up in the shit because we've over-spent. What we need is another Bobby Z, a player on the cheap who we can develop into a goalscoring superstar. Here's hoping!

Some very angry responses here to the question is it total FANTASY that we'd sign Forlan. Where does the suggestion of realistic or possible signing feature in that question?

We once signed Bobby Smith in the 4th division when he was an England International the previous year, just remember that when you go boggle eyed with rage at a rather tongue in cheek question.

Use some common sense - you really shouldn't be encouraging people to go the their GP on the basis that they have speculated that Forlan could sign for the Albion. Think before you post this shite.

But Forlan is not going to sign. So there.
