Greer wasn't bleeping on the blame radar yet!

Personally, I think Greer is class and the first choice centre back. But we're trying to get to the Premier League, so I would look to replace him for next season. If we stay in the Championship I would give him another year but on less terms, but if we go up he'd be a candidate for release for me, to free up wages for replacements.

More mixed messages Ninja -

"Greer is Class" - yet would look to replace him next season if we go up. Hardly class then is he, other wise he'd be playing prem football.

It's not a mixed message at all, Greer has done nothing wrong this season and class in the Championship doesn't always transfer to being good enough for the Premier League. Considering we signed Greer to front our promotion push from League 1, I don't think it's reasonable to then expect him to be good enough to play in the Premier League. In this team, at this moment, he is our best central defender and has been a key component in the best defence in the league. But objectively, if we go up this season then we'll need a higher standard if we're to stay up. I have no doubt Greer has another year, two or even three at Championship level. But not for a team really chasing the Premier League. That's my opinion, I'm not expecting everyone to agree.
