Big Gord was absolute class until the sending off, Bossed he back 4 was compossed on the ball..and did anyone notice that Casper the friendly keeper was solid until Greer went...after the sending off Casper started flapping.. I think that the way Elding run on the pitch and straight to Greer was planned also the reff didnt see the incident he has his back to them and didnt consult with the linno...was not a penalty as the ball was dead...elding went down as though he had been shot by the withdean sniper....disgrace..

I'll probably be proved wrong, but me and the others around me, saw it that Elding had clearly been sent on to get someone sent off. He sprinted straight across to Greer, kept niggling away when the ref wasnt looking, and when the ref looked, got hold of Greers shirt and stuck his head in his face/chest. Looked to me as if Greer simply tried to shrug him off, but because the lino (who gave it) could only see the back of Elding, it looked as if he floored him.

So wrong im afraid, I watched the whole thing clearly. Elding had a niggle, then Greer ran over to him and elbowed him in the neck/face. Agree Elding got him sent off, but it was a clear strike out by Greer

Anyone who disagrees with the decision either wasn’t at the game or completely biased. Was in the north stand and could hear the smack when GG hit him. I’m pretty sure he'd taken the free kick as well because their player was trying to get past holding GG's top as it was taken.

Exactly what 'smack' sound does an elbow in the throat make then?

The only thing Greer does is try to protect himself from the guy ramming into him. I think we'll get it overturned.

They said on the radio that Elding had a black eye after the game!

If he elbowed him in the throat as you all say, maybe big Gord paid him a visit after the game too

Greer was an idiot ,their sub came on went straight for Greer, the bate was taken and Greer reacted. All the fine captains words before the match look pretty shallow to me. IMO Adam should if playing well at the time should not be expected to stand down once the ban ends....a very poor show !! i was not impressed.

One sending off makes Greer unworthy of the Captains armband that Gus spent time deciding to give him? Do me a favour pal.

I sit in the north stand L block so the incident was right in front of us. GG clearly elbowed him (after provocation) after the free kick had been taken. I hoped the ref hadn't seen it, but........

No chance in my opinion. If we try to, it will get extended. Seeing as his last league game ended with a red card I think it's best to avoid any disciplinary panels in this case

In my opinion Greer ,whilst being a quality signing, should not have reacted the way he did. Captain's should lead by example and there is no doubt we would have gone on to win the game comfortably had we have kept 11 men on the pitch. Up to that stage they had created nothing and it was only a matter of time before we scored again. As captain he let his teammates down and i hope that in future he thinks about the responsibilties of leading the team. If not time for another captain.

The way I saw it was that the 9 ran into GG once then backed off and did it again.....GG put his arms up to protect himself the guy ran into him and then fell to the floor like a dirty cheating little wanker....a very harsh red despite the fact that the ball wasnt even in the air....terrible officiating.

I think writing him off as a liability is a bit harsh after the first match, and I've been told what he is like as a player. He's driven and it's evident that he wants a win, maybe that will make him a liability, but maybe it will make him a fantastic captain for us.

I feel Greer has the potential to be a really good captain for our team. Before the sending off I would say he was fantastic, really leading the team well, telling them where on the pitch they should be. Just generally being vocal.

where abouts where you sitting?

It's irrelevant where I was sitting. Everyone is suggesting it was an elbow to the throat yet you heard a slap. An elbow in the throat doesn't make a slapping noise. Just seems a little inconsistent!!

It happened just in front of where I sit and it was most obvious that Elding had been sent on to rough up Greer. Full marks to Rochdale for doing their homeowrk, but Elding had no intention of playing thre ball and rushed straight at Greer. The lino flagged for a sending off but not a penalty as the ball was definitely dead.

Bollocks the football league show had all of this incident off camera which probably means that there will be No appeal.. God knows I saw this as clear as day and Elding faked the whole thing. I dont know what some of you thought you saw but you are 110% wrong. Greer is blameless & a bloody good captain to boot,....
