The way I saw it was that the 9 ran into GG once then backed off and did it again.....GG put his arms up to protect himself the guy ran into him and then fell to the floor like a dirty cheating little wanker....a very harsh red despite the fact that the ball wasnt even in the air....terrible officiating.

Spot on. Greer's arms didnt move out and away from his body towards the player. All he did was protect himself from getting headbutted by the guy.

Can't be arsed to read the thread but what I will say is, from where I was sitting, Elding looked like a narky, aggressive, diving little cheating fucker.

I sit in the north stand L block so the incident was right in front of us. GG clearly elbowed him (after provocation) after the free kick had been taken. I hoped the ref hadn't seen it, but........

Elbows come when you are in front of a player you were watching from behind and clearly did NOT have a good view of the incident. It was a push and Elding like any good Italian player went over like a sack of shit and the referee and lino bought it ......

if that is the case surely an appeal is warranted....?

Hope so. Also we've got the Paint Trophy game which he wouldnt have played in anyway, so even if they did extend it to 4 games it wouldn't make a difference.

i'm not sure that muzz and virgo haven't developed a bit of a bad rep for us as far as the refs go.....with all the reds in previous campaigns, gus needs to stamp this silliness out quicksmart...!!!

I'll probably be proved wrong, but me and the others around me, saw it that Elding had clearly been sent on to get someone sent off. He sprinted straight across to Greer, kept niggling away when the ref wasnt looking, and when the ref looked, got hold of Greers shirt and stuck his head in his face/chest. Looked to me as if Greer simply tried to shrug him off, but because the lino (who gave it) could only see the back of Elding, it looked as if he floored him.

Agreed that Elding was a twat and was rightly booed after. It looked like a shoulder charge to me and the obvious way over the top reaction from Elding. I think it looked worse than it was but Greer will know he shouldnt have reacted. He will learn. This myth that he's a liability has only come cos he was sent off in an important match on Sky for Swindon IMO

Sent off twice in nine years apparently. Both in his last two league games :lolol:

Exactly. Maybe he knew he was likely to sign for the Albion last May, and thus started honing his fouling abilities in the play-offs to convince Gus he was just the sort of ill-disciplined gimp that we like in our teams
