Gordon Brown,Labour party speech.

see israel and italy's countless changes of government for the reasons that this is not the case, if you want the BNP and lots of other fringe single interest parties to be able to hold governments to ransom, then proportional representation is the way to go.

Perhaps two good examples, but it is not right that Labour or

the Conservatives can radically change the whole consensus of a nation with fewer than 38% of the votes.

At least if some people vote Communist, BNP, the Government represents the people views.

I recall Denmark have turnouts of 90% plus, because the PR su=ystem caters for voters interests and the nation is not just dominated by the self fulfilling intererest of just two parties.

People will be more interested if the Government reflects their mood, their aspirations, this nearly happened with Blair/ Lib DEms pact to keep the Tories out.

And in some Parts of the Country the 83 Election for Thatcher, where she caught the public mood in middle England and the inner city estates.

Tell you what, I'd love to see one of these US-style live televised debates between the leaders of the parties in the run up to and during the general election next year. Browns up for it apparently.

 Browns up for it about 5 weeks after both other partys have said yes to sky news's offer of a live tv debate.

Still it gave US something else to moan about, first its his man flu, then he had to drive through a bit of traffic and now its the speech

Take it then,no one,s voting Labour ?

I will assess Labour, Liberals, Greens and what the RCP and the myriad of Socialist Parties that hawk Hackney will come up with.

Labour will trounce the three Hackney constituencies as per usual, the vote for Labour went up at the Ken Mayor defeat.
And the area now has again the Country highest unemployment rate

Yes

He stated the next Labour government may be the first in power to find the cure for cancer.

At least they're trying, and trying means money and funding. It certainly won't happen under the Tories. I lose patience with people who say healthcare should be about 'choice'. Choice, my arse. Maybe we should just let those who can afford it have expensive cancer drugs.

I believe that the Dansk Folkeparti have done very well out of their PR system.

I , for one , shall be voting Labour at the next election. But I don't expect it to have too much effect..........

The Tories will scrape home, just beating a hastily formed Lib Lab pact when it becomes obvious that a Labour party featuring ineffectual gimps like Gormless Brown and Harlet Harboy cut no ice with the electorate. The excitement generated by the Lib Lab thing v the Tories will squeeze out two bob thicky parties like the BNP, who will be popped safely back in their box.

Welcome to planet Dimster, please leave your brain at the check-in.:lolol:

Brown is well hard i tell you. He'll have them both.

It'd have to be over quickly. Brown wouldn't have the stamina for a long, drawn-out fight, so if he didn't land a big one on Dave or Nick early doors, I'd fear for him. being half blind wouldn't help either.

No, I think Cleggy would eventually prevail, being as Dave hasn't got a chin.

I like to think if Gord was being battered that Darling would burst in and beat the absolute shit out of Clegg. I rekon Mandy would bring a blade, he is like that.
