Why is "Up the Republic" anti-British? Its a separate country with its own proud history and traditions.

As for living there, I would love to but unfortunately it has been hit shockingly by the recession, and I would be unable to find work there. I am also taking advantage of the longstanding links between the 2 countries (which are ultimately a British invention) to work my arse off in the public sector and pay taxes into this fine country.

And speaking of being pedantic, tiochfaidh ar la (our day will come) is a Republican slogan, not an IRA one. There is nothing wrong with peaceful Republicanism. It threatens you in no way whatsoever.
so you have no problem with orange marches through nationalist areas then ? they're not violent, they are no physical threat whatsoever , sure they're inflammatory , but they arent terrorists are they , and are you seriously asking me to believe that the cock who wants to post "up the republic" on an english football site is a "peaceful republican" ? he's probably the first to put in the collection bucket for the "cause" and indirectly pay for the semtex used to bomb large portions of the country he is happy to take advantage of living in.

I don't really think individuals either in public or on a football forum stating their support for Irish Nationalism is comparable to an organised march through an area by a rival ethnic group celebrating a battle between the two.

And yes, I do believe that its possible to post something like that on here (not that I would without good reason) and not support the IRA.

Anyway, we have had this before and you have made yor views clear: Republicans all support the IRA, and shouldn't be allowed to live here. I would imagine most on here don't agree, but nevermind. As its a nice day, I am off to the pub. :whisky:

Not again! Do you understand your weekly safe unit allowance fella? Give the liver a break and get some Milk Thistle down you instead!

You could buy four packs of Gold Bars for the price of a pub pint. I know which I'd prefer.

its amazing that people will slag off people who have served their country and stick up for those who glorify the people who bombed their home town. you are the ones that need your bumps felt.

Where has anyone slagged of a person for serving their country ?
And who has glorified IRA terrorism ?

"who haved served their country", not for serving their country.

if you want to join in, dont trip up like a toddler and smack your face on the pavement as you waddle unprepared towards us, before you have even started.

yet again words are twisted, he didnt say "for serving their country" he said "who has served their country", there is a difference , and completely changes the meaning of the statement, but you knew that already didnt you ?

With advance apologies for not bothering to read this thread through, it always amuses me when Brits get all hot under the collar about the IRA etc. If you were patriotic, and born over there, you'd have joined the IRA, I know I would have.

Facts on annual Orange marches each summer throughout Northern Ireland:

Number of marches: 3000+

Number of marches seen as "potential flashpoints" by PSNI: 12

Just to put it in perspective. The media have hyped up what is, apart from Drumcree, a non-event
