plenty of PIRA and INLA were/are from the republic, there was/is a sizeable minority of people in the republic who support PIRA/RIRA/CIRA, the canary wharf bombers to name just one of many were from the republic, the british legal system was denied extradition from the republic of escaped terrorist prisoners on the flimsiest of legal grounds, there was widespread collusion between dundalk CID and south armagh PIRA , so please spare me the pretence that the republic was a completely innocent bystander in all of this .
