I'd rather have a randomly selected member of NSC than Pearce.

Absolutely! - so why not me? I promise I wouldn't have Eileen Drewery (or any other God-bothering mystic) on the team, and I'd solemnly (but reluctantly) read the Sun to see what team I should pick. And I'd do it all for a paltry £million a year (pro-rata, until I was sacked).....what have the FA got to lose?

(and I'd promise (with my fingers crossed) not to shag any of their secretaries too........well, only a few of them, maybe)

I hereby formally throw my hat into the ring!!!!

You sir are a gentleman of the highest order. Never let it be said you turned your back on your country in its hour of need.

What brings you to that conclusion, what does pearce do poorly the squad played well in the last game under Pearce. Please explain
Firstly Manchester City.
Secondly England U21s, though they appear on paper to have a decent record under Pearce they haven't been good, they play poor, direct football, less skilled but big and strong players get in ahead of more talented ones invariably. The lost tournament was strikingly similar to the 2010 World Cup performance.

I didn't think England were good against Holland at all. I'm not convinced any of the realistic candidates would get a huge amount more out of the England team than they have showed in recent times but Pearce would be another McLaren or Keegan.

I thought Hoddle did a decent job for england in his time but there is no way that te current generation of England players would respond to him as a manager in my opinion! footballers have changed in the last 15 years and with some of the ego's in the squad, i dont think it would be a good match with the arrogance of hoddle and the fact that he has been out of football for years!!
