That is pathetic, god help you if you're ill/have an accident!

Maybe he has read to much of the Daily Mail? Still no problem a few years it will all be private anyhow. Assume if he has an accident he wont want picking up by the Ambulance either.

I am dissapointed in some people on here. This thread is not some kind of personal crusade but I would have thought some one would have got the kick uo the arse that I got and signed up.

For those that can but wont you are welcome to my blood if you need it some time and I hope then maybe you will donate.

I have never given blood but have been thinking about it for a while now. Looked up the web sites and I currently can't give blood as I have a chesty cough, I need to see the doc's about it (had it for 2-3 weeks), so will presumably go on anit-biotics, another reason I can't give blood. The good thing is that these will go and may be I can then give blood although I am permanently on a medication and I am seeing conflicting advice on whether it is possible to give blood, so I will call them and ask. If I can give blood with this medication, I will once the cough has gone.

Hopefully one newbie Triggers Twin!

Edit: I forgot, when the family was in Italy camping (Tuscany) the campsite was asking for blood donations, my wife gave and she received 2 bottles of red wine and a voucher for the cake shop!

we can't now we live abroad because of the whole mad cow thing. i was edging close to 50 blood donations before we left.

my daughter lived for as long as she did because of some strangers who got off their arses, took a short time out of their day and donated some blood (she had plasma and marrow as well in the end)

she died because she didn't get a liver transplant in time.

one day that might be your daughter or son or wife or mum or brother who is relying on the kindness of a stranger to save their life. don't assume that just because you are related you will be a match, you might not be.

i think people who say i am scared of needles, who can't be bothered, who just think it won't ever be them in need are selfish and have no time for them i am embarrassed to say that before anastasia got sick i had donated blood once or twice in a very hit or miss fashion because hey, shit doesn't to me. well it does and it did and one day it could be you. since then i was religious in donating every time i could. such a simple thing and it really does save lives.

my daughter would have just celebrated her ninth birthday. she didn't.

Too many stories like this in the UK. Sorry for your loss and thank you for the post.

There you go guy's and girls, the very reason you should. Still not one sign up in the poll though, tsk tsk.

It will take more than saving a life of someone else for the likes of TCB to give up their blood I suspect.
