I think I read somewhere Murray said in an interview that when the club were looking at him to buy, his data was off the scale, one of the highest rated players we have ever bought.
I think I posted on the original signing thread that this was probably a player whose data suggested he was a perfect fit and so I was happy to trust the stats boffins. Georgi is another big W for the data department. His name will be all over the backs of a few thousand shirts next season.

I hate to sound like the dad in Diffrent Strokes but there really is a good life lesson to be learnt from him: be good at your job and people will like and respect you. But be good at your job AND a diamond of a person to have around the place and people will adore you. I mean, how could you not? The buzz that that man has put around the place is simply off the scale, to an extent that I cannot recall for decades.

Yep all true.

My boys wanted Georgi and Baleba’s shirts for Christmas - no coincidence there. Two brilliant players and wonderful characters who everyone loves. Just love watching them.

😁I watched Diffrnt strokes the other day for the first time since I was a kid. It was on one of the high channel numbers and I managed about 5 minutes before binning it off. It has not aged well.
Ever since I have been singing the theme tune in my head (please make it stop!).
But you're right. I'd much rather have a Georginio in the dressing room than, I don't know, a Trossard maybe.
