I was chatting to a dirty l***s fan at the airport last week and they were really pissed off that he went

He said that Georginio was the best signing they had made since the Revie days

Quite a claim but he is mightily impressive
I spoke to two of 'them' in the summer who both, independently, said he was tricky with no end product. Ha!

It doesn't always come off when we buy the best player from a small lower level side, so I was half expecting him to be completely w**k, very pleased to be wrong.

Some of the comments when we were first rumoured to be interested (from people who probably had barely seen him play) are simply DELICIOUS

I think I read somewhere Murray said in an interview that when the club were looking at him to buy, his data was off the scale, one of the highest rated players we have ever bought.

Strongly disagree with that. IIRC we've signed five players from the Championship in the last five seasons: Webster, Maupay, Joao Pedro, Georginio Rutter and Eiran Cashin. Four of them were undoubtedly important signings that went on to have a key role for us. And as for Cashin, we'll see eventually if its a hit or miss.

It's clearly a veiled dig at Leeds. Shouldn't you be a Wet Sham fan now anyway?

Well, who the f*** isn't? They just destroyed Arsenals title challenge and made all their fans cry.

noticed a fair few leeds fans on twitter who, rather unsurprisingly, seem to think he’s just on loan here and will eagerly return when they’re promoted
I for one will look forward to watching their struggles next season. I dare say we shall suffer less fools from their neighbourhood on here than we did the last time they got promoted.

I hope not. The shouts of ‘we’ll be in europe in a year’s time and you’ll be in the championship’ after that one 9th place finish were hilarious.

Is he Rutter or Georginio?
We call him Georginio, he has Georginio on his shirt so why do commentators call him Rutter, and then is he Rutter, as is ruts in the road, or Rooter, because he gets called both.
"And Rutter runs through and scores", who, what, that guy who scored has Georginio on his shirt.
This drives me stark raving bonkers! He has Georginio on his shirt so why the hell do they keep calling him Rutter/Rooter. The neutrals who are watching must wonder who they are talking about!

Actually it is rude! He has chosen to have Georginio on his shirt so they should have the decency to call him that!

Top class player and us getting him is real evidence of the incompetence of the 13 or 14 financially more muscular sides. He's be useful for literally any team.
Basing it on the incompetence of others is hugely unfair on us. He may well have chosen to come here because he liked what he saw and wanted to be part of it. That is - we were a better fit for him. We were better than the others at signing him highlights our 'competence' not others' incompetence.
