Well, where do I begin?

To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I was not expecting this result or even the scale of it. No excuses, no hiding, no wriggling out, I hold my hands up and say I got it wrong. I do actually take my politics seriously, I do walk-the-talk, and have invested a lot in this particular election; I feel gutted.

Fair play to those who called it right. I do not believe the UK is on the right track but democracy has spoken and I am in the minority with my beliefs.

Two positives were Hove, and the high turnout....even if they did not back my side; more people engaging with politics is only a good thing.

Farage will surely stay on. UKIP have one MP, it does not really make sense for them to have that one MP as leader as well. One policy UKIP will copy off the Greens...

The others I think you are correct.

If you entirely ignore the losses to the Conservatives (a ridiculous thing to say I know, but bear with me), Labour have still had a dreadful election. In every seat where they have come up against a viable socialist alternative, SNP or Green, they have lost. That is a pretty damning indictment of Milliband's leadership.

Clegg has been responsible for the destruction of his party, just so he can play Deputy Prime Minister for four years. The Lib Dems did the right thing by going in to coalition with the Conservatives last time around. However, they needed to seem a bit more reluctant about it in the beginning. They alienated every voter who tactically voted for their party to keep the Tories out, and did not show enough contrition towards those people who felt let down by that decision. Political suicide, especially as Clegg set about reminding people in the run up to the election that they could hold the balance of power again.

As for Bennett, well she has to go. She just made too many blunders. If the Greens find a charismatic leader who can avoid gaffes they could well be in a pretty strong position next time around.

I think Farage has stated publically that he will resign if he loses his seat and the rumours coming through are that defeat is indeed the outcome.

I too engaged heavily in this, more so than any election previously. It's not the resulted I wanted or hoped for.

Yes, I saw that. I figure they were expecting Reckless to win as well, so one of the two MPs as leader. With just one it does not make sense for him to be leader. I suspect that Farage will resign, then be re-elected leader.

Respect for the graciousness shown In defeat. We may support a different party, but if we were to list the things we want for the country, we wouldn't be far apart. The differences are nuances IMO, and this doesn't warrant the vitriol which is espoused by both sides.

You have been man enough to admit when you have been proved wrong, and that's a commendable trait.

of course I'm pleased, and I hope that the country is run for the best of the general population, and not a limited few.

I dont like politics of envy, but also, I dislike the ability of the elite to evade, but this major change requires international cooperation.
