No blacks = no gangs.

Triads and Yakuza aren't black but I reckon that they are amongst the most serious gangs in the World, I certainly wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of them...serious mistake.

Over here I meant of course. Its not just blacks of course but any immigrants who enter a country at the botton end of the economic chain and then affix themselves to the illegal areas where you can make money.

The Italians in the 20`s and 30`s in the US made money from prohibition and then the Hispanics and the Afro Caribbean did likewise with the influx of drugs.

The Sommalians and the Nigerians are doing similar sterling work over here now.

Any way Chinks are just as bad as coons.

Not just immigrants either, it's any bunch of 'disaffected' youth. A lot of the gangs in London are Afro Carribean but if you go to say Manchester or Liverpool they are not as a rule.

I don't think there are any "gangs" in Shoreham, wouldn't have a clue to be honest...

I tell you what there are though, is bored, teenagers, sitting around the station, drinking WKD and park lager, swearing, texting and playing on thier phones and attempting to look tough...frankly when I have to walk past them, I wonder a)what their parents think their kids are up to and b) do they realize how stupid they look?

thats normal behaviour for teenagers. Apart from the weirdo ones who stay in and do their homework before going to bed at a reasonable hour so that they are fresh for school in the morning.

Oh I forget. The normal ones also spend hours on msn talking drivel to people ( not like us adults )

Wait to your kid or kids grow up. They will ''hang out'' just like these teenagers who`s parents you despair of.

Actually that's a lot of the problem, a severe lack of parental discipline.

How ODD - Questions just made a racist post...

Whats racist about that.

white collar crime ........... a higher proportion of these crimes are commited by whites......is that racist (no pun intended)

burglaries.............a higher proportion of these crimes are commited by whites......is that racist

gun crime and muggings............ a higher proportion of these crimes are commited by blacks......is that racist - why ? because most of the major drug dealing gangs in the cities are BLACK................ if that makes me racist. I couldn`t give a f***. Still true though.

There are plenty of other kids around here who don't hang out on street corners?

My son won't "hang out" at the station being drunk and anti social, he'll have hobbies and interests, maybe I'll be taking him to football practice, drumming lessons, whatever he wants, but he won't be a lout outside a 24 hour quick e mart...If he wants to hang out with his mates, he can quite happily do it here at home, we've got a massive workshop where he can try and be a rock star or build a race car or kart or whatever....

I do despair of these parents, and I believe rightly so...

I allways find it amusing when parents make such bold statements such as " my son wont do this" or "my sont will do that" Trust me Tede when your son is a teenager he will have his own mind and do what he wants whether you agree with it or not. Thats what teenagers do these days.

Why then are there dispersal notices scattered around the Preston Park and Varndean areas?

Brighton seems a strange place for trouble and anti-social behaviour. Apart from above, there was also a piece in the Argus this week complaining about the noise and disruption in Hanover. And earlier this year, there were lots of articles about the problems caused by the Southwick Soldiers - andt Southwick is scarcely an example of urban squalor. Yet the estates of east Brighton: Moulsecoomb, Bates, Bevendean, Coldean, Hollingdean etc scarcely witness any trouble. I live, have lived or walk through all of them regularly and they're peaceful to an extreme.

Why is it the posher areas of Brighton that have the problems and the more deprived are relatively quiet? That seems counter-intuitive.

After living in Hanover now for 26 years I can safely say the problem with noise here is mainly down to HOMO's (Houses Of Multiple Occupancy). The people who live in them generally only stay for a year and have no connection with the area, they cause all sorts of litter and noise problems. If you live on a corner like me I imagine it's worse than living down the side streets.

Street shootings are quite common where we live.

Up to now the victims have mainly been pheasants. But, if I believe the Daily Mail, it's only a matter of time before things get really nasty.

I hope I raise him well enough to have his own mind to be able to decide what he wants to do, but I can guarantee you he will not be hanging about outside the quick e mart drinking WKD and being a menace...I'm sure if he does decide to do that, that he will have his father and mother on his case big time...I don't care if its what other kids are doing "these days" or not....

Neither Zef or I did any of that stuff and it remains to be seen as to why some kids feel it necessary to do so....Are their parents at the pub? are their parents completely uninterested in their kids wellbeing? Have the parents not raised their kids to understand that there are much more interesting things to be doing?

But we've disagreed on this before, so I guess we'll have to agree to disagree again....

You've forgotten the rabbits and nobody ever speaks up for the rabbits. Not even the Daily Mail. But since they are too gormless to form a gang themselves, they'll remain victims of the Farmerz Gun Crew.
