Then if you are happy with your standard of living in the countryside then why moan about the costs.
Aren't you contradicting yourself by saying you can't afford to move to the smoke?
I wasn't referring to farming when I said bizarre activities, I was referring to fox-hunting. Sorry, a misunderstanding there.

What i am saying is why should i pay the penalty of shit services and get less for my money than a city dweller.

we are all tax payers we should not be treated diffrently.

I cant get a house in the area i work without putting my self in deep debt why should i

i am ok where i am but i should be able to catch public transport i should be able to have the roads maintained and i should have police cover in my town.

all common and payed for in the city

Newbury, Berkshire.
All paid for by Council Tax, which is determined by the local authority.

Shouldn't you be raising these issues with your local Council, they're the ones responsible for subsidising local public transport, maintaining local roads and paying for the police ?

And they are responsible for setting the level of Council tax to meet these requirements.

It's got nothing to do with Central Government ( except through the grant given to local authorites ).

So next time there's a local election, get out there and give your councillors a hard time - ask them why you should vote for them.
