Things have picked up recently, which is nice, looking good for survival in our first season in the Prem. Bridcutt has been excellent, and Ulloa has 5 goals in 3 games after I transfer listed him for his poor performances.

Also made an absolutely class signing on a free for next season. Think we'll be looking at Europa League places next season with a bit of luck:

Quick question regarding online/multiplayer.

Can 3 of my friends and I start a career in our own private league?
So 3 of us with our own teams and the rest being controlled by the computer.

Are we able to play the full game this way?

Yes. It's the full game. You just can't continue until other people click 'Continue', which makes the transfer windows quite frustrating. But yes you can, and it's very good.

A piece of advice for anyone managing the Albion - do not underestimate the talents of Kemy Agustien.

I'm in early Decemer 2013, top of the league by 2 points from Reading and he is playing very well. Used as a central midfielder with the "box-to-box midfielder" role set, he has 4 goals in his 9 starts since I started making use of him, having not really included him in my lineups to begin with - nice to bolster my attack with what seems to be a genuine goalscoring midfielder.

Thanks very much.

Is it easy enough to set up?

I haven't done it in a few months but think so. If I remember, you click New Game, then New Online Game (not in online part of main menu). Then one person hosts and creates a game name and password. Others can then go down the same route but search for the game instead of hosting it using the game name and putting in the password. Then you all just start as normal.

I'm 99% sure that's right. But it's something a long those lines if not 100% right.

I'm done again. I gave 14 more of a chance than I did with 13 but its ended up the same. More difficulty and less fun. I get about two hours a week to play games and I damn sure don't want to spend those two hours getting my arse kicked over and over again.

Back to my long term FM2012 save. Sports Interactive: You will no longer be getting any more of my money!

what a weird thing to say - it is definitely more difficult - the fun lies in learning the new bits. what happens when you've got bored of winning everything on fm12 and you've done everything?

not buying a game anymore because you can't win is a bit.....

I don't have the time to learn the new bits. With the small amount of time I get to play games I want to have instant gratification, not hours of trial and error. Don't get me wrong, FM14 is fantastic. There's a lot of great stuff in there. I just enjoy 2012 more.

Then a new version of Football Manager will never be for you.

You'll still be back next year though.

Have you tried FMC on the game ? Its the same as the current FM, just stripped back, quicker and simpler - much like it was about 4 years ago.

Cant remember how long SI said a season on FMC takes - but it isnt long.

Does anyone play the iPad version of Football Manager? Is it any good?

Ta

As an app in it's own right it is very good.

Obviously the trick is to not and try and compare it to it's PC counterpart.

I got the iPad version at the weekend and I must say I was very pleasantly surprised at how good it is. I have played FM/CM since the glory days of the 1990s. Last year I got FM2013 on the iPad and while I realised it would be a stripped down version of the full game, I was disappointed with the lack of depth.

But the new one, whilst clearly nowhere near as deep as the PC/Mac version, is a lot more playable and involving.

Having said that, reading throught this thread over the last few days is tempting me to to plunge into the full version again.

Just added Fraser Forster, Giorginio Wijnaldum (free), John Flanagan, Roman Eremenko (free), Lukas Podolski (loan), Ever Banega (loan), Filip Djuricic (loan) Bram Nuytinck, Guillermo Burdisso and Ezequiel Rescaldani to my Brighton squad, going for Europa League in our second season in the Prem, currently 3 wins and a draw from our first four. Bridcutt, Andrews, JFC (out on loan again) and Buckley are the only survivors from the start, and Bridcutt is the only first team regular..

Who's reached European lands with Brighton so far?

IPad version - Currently 14th as Brighton manager after 13 games. Just lost narrowly 3-2 away at Watford. Through to round 4 of the Capital One Cup facing an away tie at Sheffield Wednesday.

Loaned out the likes of Ince, Chicksen, Barker, Maksimenko etc to gain vital experience. Only one coming in so far is Josh McEachran on season loan from Chelsea.

CMS can't stop scoring - he's got 13 goals in 16 games.

Just found out last night that the new Football Manager Handheld version on the Playstation Vita will be the first console version to feature the 3D match engine, and you can cross-save your progress between consloe and PC via Cloud. This info puts the Vita version firmly at the top of my Christmas wish-list :)
