J'les aurai!
For some bizarre reason it was Northampton away in 1976 or 77. Went on the Seagulls special, then on a bus from the station to the ground, singing about Henry Boot who had some advertising about whatever he owned in the town. The ground had three sides for fans and a rope on the other one separating it from the county cricket club. Won 2-0, I think Tiger Towner got one, and some locals went round the back of our stand and lobbed bricks at us, friendly chaps. Totally hooked by the whole experience, led to many memorable Seagull special trips to obscure northern and midland towns.
not my first, but went to northampton for aleague cup game around 79,poskett got the winner, yeah totally bizarre the rope down one side, remember seeing the county ground on the 40 overs sunday afternoon league
anyway, after the game, had no trouble with northampton, but a group of around 20 with, what seemed like jumpers with man utd badge on it,giving us verbal pointing to the badge, with reference to our forthcoming visit to old trafford
