If the situation was reversed, we'd all be cursing the bloodyAustralians, and grudgingly admiring their typically cussed resistance.

England do the same and we're all 100% convinced they'll be all out within the next three overs

:lolol:

Because Australians are winners and England dont have bottle

It's not "resistance" though is it? Well, it is from Collingwood, and all praise must go to him. But the top 5 are a disgrace to the sport and country on the evidence of this innings. How many thick-as-shit batsmen is it possible to have in one line-up? There's nothing resistent about the rest of them, and definitely nothing Australian-like going on.

Oh I agree, and nothing I've seen so far makes me believe we're going to survive the however many overs are left. You just can't see Australia failing to get one more batsman out, and then it's just Panesar, who might as well not bother.

I just think it's funny how we view certain elements of the game depending on which team is performing at the time.

Fourteen overs to go, apparently, twelve if England somehow manage to scrape past Australia's total.

no fight, no organisation, no imagination, really a piss poor performance. i only hope strauss and bowlers wise up or its gonna be a long old summer. and as for the so called batsmen....

Would you say the problem lay primarily with the batsmen or the bowlers tho?

Think on the whole I'd opt for the bowlers.

Imagine how Monty Panesar's feeling right now :lolol:

How can thirteen overs stretch so far into the distance?

A draw is looking good. 7 runs to make them bat again thus wasting 2 overs. Collingwood needs to keep strike as much as possible though.

I'd agree with you there. Australia save a test on the last day and it would be determined and resilient. We save one and it's desperate.

I was just saying in this example, it really shouldn't have been even close, and IF we draw it shouldn't be seen as an achievement. Australia showed what a good batting pitch it is yesterday, and their bowlers have shown how useless they are. So we should be able to bat out a day and 7 overs for the loss of about 4 wickets. Holding on at 8 down with Monty to come is not to be admired. I just hope 2 or 3 of these wasters are dropped on Thursday.

Indeed, as I said earlier I can see the headlines tomorrow if they hold on

"heroes"

With a number of photos of England players smiling and laughing and not ashamed at all.
