Any film I can drink a lot during without paying attention to. Normally that’ll be anything Mrs GB puts on in the evening

This. I’ve watched about 30 mins of the first film…..dropped off….haven’t bothered since.
Films 3 to 8 are brilliant, they got darker and more magical. I enjoy them so much with my kids.

Always a NSC Marmite subject … like Coldplay, The Beatles, Messi, Boehly/Potter’s Chelsea :lolol:

The Power of the Dog.

good f***ing lord. The critics and film intelligentsia were surely having a big in-joke, with their massive backing of this utter dirge. Shockingly dull film.

I fell asleep in Jackie Brown. Only a reflection on how tired I was though. Went back to the cinema the next day to find out what happened in the middle.

The Godfather, three attempts at getting through the first 20 minutes of mind numbing tedium, three fails. I’m guessing it must get good at some point for all the worship it gets. Not for me.

I found myself drifting off in the cinema when watching Me, Myself & Irene.
So many classic gags, the family photos of them all dressed up like the Wizard of Oz “Oh that’s just me and the boys goofing around”

West is BEST
The Godfather
Blade Runner ( never got through it. Dull.)
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Easy Rider
Blue Valentine
and
The English Patient. You don’t have to be English to watch it but you do have to be f***ing patient.

I’m ashamed to say most arthouse films send me to sleep after the first 5 mins - non-emotive acting, bland lighting, scenes moving so slow they can barely crawl. .
I feel you might be watching the wrong sort of art-house films

Tough Crowd, the first two are classics, although reading the Philip Dick Novel helps for Blade Runner...

Not a clue what it was called but Richard Gere was in it with a dog that followed him everywhere I got a good hours kip on that masterpiece.

First time I watched the shining I nodded off as well,so had to watch that again,I kinda get why I nodded off the first time I saw it.

My go to movie when I can't sleep and works every time is Lawrence of Arabia
