Forget the fans of the big Spanish, Italian and French clubs, they will f*** off in a shot just to get themselves out of debt.
They will cave in and not realise the damage they are doing to the wonderful game.
Or realise the value of what they currently have.

English supporters groups now need to unite with their German counterparts and protest against their clubs and leagues becoming involved.
You can rely on Liverpool and Bayern fans doing the right thing to show their clubs what they think of the idea.

I'm not so sure about fans from the Manchester club or Newcastle.
Global domination of a competition involving ten teams would suit them fine.

The league could make Jordan Henderson, Neymar and Ronaldo their ambassadors.

Well it will happen now.

But fan opposition means the clubs will have to be much more careful about it, and we're likely to see it happen incrementally. It will certainly have another name.

Saudi clubs will of course be invited too
This is very insightful indeed.

Thinking about it, I can’t now picture an ESL without Saudi clubs. They’d be taking the places of the EPL clubs who have pulled out.

How lucky we are to have had a tilt at European football before it descends into carnage.
How unlucky we are that this carnage is happening when we are in the most successful era of our history.

Maybe TB and PB are well placed to take advantage of the chaos (it's a ladder you know).

Maybe a controversial view but I actually have more faith in Man Utd fans to put up a fight (especially as they already have beef with the owners) as they’re a more traditionally big club, whereas City and Newcastle have shown they’ll embrace whatever shite their owners feed them.

Along with Chelsea fans, who would put up a fight

European court rules against UEFA/FIFA in blocking the creation of the super league

Interesting to see what happens now
Read @El Presidente's book. He called it.

The European clubs will all vote for it because they want some of the Premier League's cash.

Hopefully this will fast track our own government's review into football and force a change in ownership rules. BUT, as the Sausi'a and Yanks have bought up a lot of Permier League real estate I imagine they will contest that in court. I imagine that a Saudi club will also want to be part of this league too.

But, the UK government should fight it. The PL can see off this Super League if they want. Madrid, Barca etc. are desperate for it because they know their own football model is broken.

When it happens, it'll be seismic. Sadly, football fans are too fickle and if it gets over the line they'll still sign up to watch it.

The company who backed the European Super League, A22, has launched a new proposal for men's and women's European competitions.

The proposal is a league system with 64 men's clubs across three leagues with participation based on sporting merit and no permanent members.

The women's competition would include 32 clubs across two leagues.

It comes after the European Court of Justice said banning clubs from joining a European Super League was unlawful.

No clubs or prize money have yet been announced in the proposal.

the court verdict said that UEFA lacked proper process to make decisions on blocking such leagues. once it puts them in place, they can continue to block. weird being in situation UEFA is potentially good guy.

the fan reaction to ESL was very very negative and gave a lot of clubs pause for thought. many of them dont really want it, they just want to be in it if happens. i reckon without German and English clubs it would be a bit of a damp squib anyway, and they are most likely to not go ahead without fan support.
in the end there aren't enough weeks to play current domestic leagues, Champions League and a Super League, so any joining the latter would have to drop from the others, and they cant afford to do that.

As always, money will win the day. And as always, another bit of the soul of the game will have been sold and lost forever
…… as the Saudis continue to plunder western heritage with their dirty money and regimes. Not sure if we could have done anything to stop it but how I long for Divisions 1 to 4, the European Cup on a knockout basis, home internationals and players you went to school with playing for your local club, then dropping down the leagues to local football.
These days are great and I love what we are achieving, but it’s different.

All that will probably happen is the greedy big clubs will pull out of the UEFA competions and set up their own Super League competition on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.

UEFA will be left with the equivelent of the Europa and Conference competitions for clubs not invited to the Super League.
