Who's next. Same as you, I assume from your avatar. Lots to love in all the ones before too. Not moved by much after Quadrophenia though

Agree Live at Leeds is a top Album, always reminds me of my most embarressing moments in life, when I went into Woolies in Worthing and asked for 'The Who 'Live' at Leeds, and of course they never actually lived there, but simply played there, what a wally.......hey Quadrophnia aint bad either, especially 'I have had enough' superb track

I dont think the who made great albums. I have Who's next which is generally considered their best and to be honest it's not great. Baba O'Riley and Won't Get fooled again are brilliant but the tracks in between are pretty average and a couple are terrible. It also doesn't hang together as a piece of work, it just feels like some songs they had with no theme or mood to them.

Albums aside, one of my favourite singles of all time was "Pictures of Lily" - ah, the guilty pleasures of youth

Who's Next by a country mile for me, although I did really like the Who Sell Out at the time it was released, really captured the feel of Radio Caroline and the other pirate stations adverts.

I might have to revisit Sellout, it must be 30 years since I last listened to it.

Lost interest from Quadrophenia on tbh

My mate's five year old daughter is called Lily. Every time I see her I break into the strains of 'Pictures of Lily' and feel somewhat uncomfortable based on its subject matter.

Tommy - Performed by the London Symphony Orchestra & Chambre Choir with Roger Daltrey and guest Soloists Graham Bell, Maggie Bell, Sandy Denny, Steve Winwood, Rod Stewart, Richie Havens, and Ringo Starr.

IMHO one of the greatest ever cover albums

Agree, amongst bands they are very unusual to have legendary tracks to make up one of the Worlds greatest live shows spread amongst 8 albums, 2 or 3 tracks (15/20 mins) from every album, over a decade apart.
All in all the 2 1/2 - 3 hour live show is their great legacy rather than a single released album (which all had some weaknesses) & bootleg live albums from mid to late 70s are the best way to appreciate how great a band they were/are.

Sadly can't vote as i can only pick one and the vast majority of the list are great albums. Agree about Lakedown Trout Fishery, caught my first trout there in front of the great RD.

Who's Next is technically The Who reaching their best. Live At Leeds though just seems to get more popular with age, the remastered version is brilliant. Personally I live to revisit The Kids Are Alright, a double vinyl which has some great versions and the songs in the right order.
