The Police would be paid anyway and the vehicle - no idea if it was a limo - would be a car used by the PM, hence not an additional cost though.

Please crack on though.
Are you claiming that the cost for Sir Freebie to watch at home with a bag of pork scratchings and a Heineken 0 would be the same as the cost for Saturday’s shenanigans?

The only incremental cost would be the fuel.

Much like if your partner in crime got his butler to drive the 2 tier potg mobile to the game instead of getting the bus, the only extra cost will be the fuel as he already owns amd insures the vehicle and grants Benson (if indeed he does pay him) a salary

This may already have been answered but I got bored after 3 pages seeing as the thread has been completely derailed.

There was a tall (6ft+) black guy with a shorter black guy (who people weren't really interested in, so I assume just his mate) who came into the MWB lounge after the game yesterday. Quite a few (mainly kids) had their photo taken with him but also the old boy on the table next to me who asked him for a photo because his grandson said he was famous. I've just googled famous Arsenal fans and I think it may have been a mush called Daniel Kaluuya who I've never heard of but he's got nearly a million followers on instagram so I guess a lot of people have.
In that situation, the obvious thing is to take the picture and ask the ID questions later!

I don't like two tier Keir and I don't agree with the majority of his policies. But from a club perspective having him at the game is no bad thing. Have no doubt Paul Barber will have viewed this as very useful given the debate over the regulation of football. I can just picture him shuffling up alongside him as they both took a half time wee break. "Can I have a word Prime minister..."
Obvs this could not have happened as Starmer would still be in the pisser now.

I do wonder how the poor bloke fits this all in though. The job of a Prime Minister is basically 24/7 and the chances to spend time with your family must be incredibly limited. I can't imagine the conversation to spend what little time he has for his family went well when he said he was off to the football. It's hard enough for those of us with a 9-5, Mon-Fri job. Maybe Mrs Starmer and the kids got sick of him over Christmas and encouraged him to go? They were probably allowed to stick the heating on for the evening maybe?
It is also worth remembering his brother died in the last couple of weeks. In that scenario I would say it’s incredible sour grapes to deny a man a bit of downtime and a chance to switch off for a couple of hours while doing something he genuinely enjoys (watching his team play football).

I know I’ve taken great comfort out of being at a game at various times to distract me from other things going on in my life, and I’m damned sure I’m not the only one here. I hope I wouldn’t be criticised for doing that, and nor would I expect anyone here to be criticised for doing it.

I know full well Barco is still at Sevilla - although not for long i hope poor bloke . To be honest i can`t think of one thing i detest more than politics and i would normally avoid it , that is until starmer showed up , the man is a dislikeable moron who has hit the OAPs hard when he said he wouldn`t , he has surrounded himself with the biggest bunch of ****s ever assembled - and he has made free speech a thing of the past . I don`t care that his taste in football teams is so bad that he go`s to the emirates , i do care that he seems to spend more time on holiday and at the football than he does doing his job , the fact he is a freebie chasing greedy bastard is just bloody annoying .
It seems, he still has someway to go with poor grammar, spelling and punctuation.

That's probably the closest thing between Starmer and Donald Trump. Neither expect to pay for sport events

It's a shame people can't allow Starmer the chance to go to a football game when he wishes.
Plenty of politicians from both sides of the divide have previously attended events.
It's been covered multiple times why he's not in with the general public. Unfortunately the cost of looking after VIP's is always a sensitive subject.
Any public official who wants to attend a football match shouldn't be prevented from doing so due to fear for their personal security.
Absolutely. Rishi Sunak was fairly frequent attendee attended a Saints matches when he was PM - not among the plebs.

These days if you threaten to burn down a hotel and kill all the immigrants inside it you get arrested and thrown in jail.

I hope your not suggesting i would condone that type of comment or behaviour , but i have accurately helped you with a true description of these people . And again i point out that i have not mentioned any of this , which means you are a shit stirrer looking to make trouble where there wasn`t any .

If you insist on trying to pick an argument aim it at me with facts not shit slinging about subjects i haven`t commented on , otherwise keep it to yourself .

So can you explain a bit more by what you mean with your statement "he has made free speech a thing of the past"?

Because it looks like the most ludicrous take I could have imagined, hence the mockery, but if you genuinely believe Starmer genuinely has ended free speech in the last 6 months then please do explain how he has achieved this, as it would actually mean he has managed to do the most extraordinary thing any PM has done for 200 years.

Of course I'm not suggesting you would condone that sort of behaviour for a moment, but to make such an utterly outlandish statement and then demand everyone else deals with facts alone feels like quite the jump. Is it a fact that free speech is no longer present and it's all thanks to Keir Starmer?

When everyday people who march or voice their concerns over the flood of Illegal immigrants is met with police with riot shields and arrests are made of peaceful protesters then freedom of speech has gone . Similar protests by those supporting the ILLEGAL immigrants were treated with kid gloves . I am NOT referring to right wing groups , just normal people who have had enough .

I personally have sympathy for REAL refugees of wars , we have a large number of Ukrainians down here , but economic ILLEGAL migrants who all seem to be young men - we also had 500 of them down here , have no place in this country except through LEGAL channels - BEFORE arriving here not after . Other countries don`t put up with it why should we ?. We have become the dumping ground for all and any that Europe doesn`t want .
