Falmer Work Start Ceremony

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
"Chance" being the key word. It shouldn't be a possibility, it should be a GUARANTEE.

You've done more than most. Not that it's going to happen, but how would you feel if they told you you CAN'T go on 17/12?

I would have thought Falmer4All and the Seagulls Party would be special guests (rightly so) anyway. It is not an ideal situation, but needs be must. :(

Not too fussed, to be honest. It's always good to attend a celebration, but - from what Martin Perry said on the Albion Roar this morning - this won't be the first day of work on the site. Buckingham are moving on to the site in the first two weeks of December and will be doing not very exciting things with portacabins and fencing. They may even start coning off bits of Village Way and getting some equipment delivered.

My guess is that the ceremony has been delayed until after the end of the Brighton University term, to minimise any disruption. But not even Brighton University closes down completely at Christmas. And the Raquets Club will certainly be open. We can't expect the whole world to stop for a party.

Even if one is unsuccessfull in the ballot, there is a natural tendency to just turn up anyway.... after so many years of saying we'll believe it when we see it, I think a lot of people will want to see it. And then they will believe.

A nice little early Christmas present.

So what time does it all start?

As I'm staying over in Shrewsbury so probably wont get back in time but wondering if its worth entering the ballot anyway.

Agree with The Complete Badger, a MASSIVE PR disaster from the club, an absolute joke, what happened to the COMMUNITY stadium, open to everyone, man or woman, black or white, thin of fat, short or tall, window licker or not.

The club are depending on their very survival on getting thousands of season tickets sold, and fans through the Falmer turnstyles, so why piss them off/limit the chance to make people happy.

As I kind of mentioned in the Free travel to Hartlepool, they ask so much of the fans, get them to dip their hands in their pocket, ask them to write in, help get the recognition to build the new thing, but not let them turn up to see the start happen :nono: yet they appear to give very little back to the fans, when a chance arises.

The final piss take, will be charging people to attend after the ballot has been drawn

Yeah, that actually is a load of old shite.

Still, what do the club know about respecting fans?

Can't see anything on this, which is a bit odd.

Albion have announced the start date for their new stadium at Falmer.

The kick-off ceremony, marking the launch of building by contractors the Buckingham group, takes place on December 17.

Chairman Dick Knight said: "This is what we've been waiting for and working for."

Fans wanting to attend have to enter a ballot, to be held on December 2.

ive been on Seagulls.co.uk but cant see anything about this whats the souce??
