It is not about Ultras. It is about getting those that want to sing in the same place. Many clubs have said that they have lost atmosphere when they moved to a new ground because the noisy fans became dispersed and scattered- Manchester City fans said that all the noise they had from Maine road seemed to be lost in the new stadium and it took a couple of seasons to get an area that became the noisy section.
All we are trying to do is get like minded fans in the same part of the ground, think of it as sitting next to all your mates! f*** me, some people are so negative,what is wrong with trying to get some atmosphere at the new place.
Mate, all good and each to their own but their are many stories of singing sections not really working , including the Withdean.
Unlike other teams that have gone from a good atmosphere to a shit one when they moved , we are unique in that we are going from shit . Therefore I'm certain you don't need to worry about it too much. We will have a roof which will help and not mean the need for everyone to be huddled together. I think signers spread out around the stadium may actually help. The acoustics are supposed to be brilliant so we should be looking for the whole ground to feel like they should sing. Not have 40 people bunched behind a goal singing inappropriate BS

It's not about having a 'singing section' it's about having an organised bunch of Albion fans who co-ordinate displays of noise and colour in a particular section of the ground. It's not at all about manufacturing an atmosphere, it's about supporting the team and bringing something extra to home (and away) games in conjunction with the noise from the other stands. I personally struggle to understand why anyone would be opposed to this and anyone who has seen any of the footage on You Tube of clubs like Aberdeen, Celtic and even York couldn't fail to be impressed.

I think that bearing in mind the name of the stand (North Stand) and it's historical significance to Albion fans, that most singers and young lads will naturally migrate to the new North Stand.
The flags and organising some noisy support can only be a good idea, but it needs to be continued and not just for the first couple of home games.
Oh and the "Falmer North Stand Crew" sounds so bloody American, can't the crew part be dropped for boys or something like that?

Went to the presentation of the 1901 club this week and there were comments made by the site director that the North stand will be dedicated to the noisy ones with the upper tier of the east(?) stand also aimed at a younger crowd.
South stand will house the away fans..

The problem with singing sections is that they attract children and internet geeks - H block proves this.
Don't have a singing section and it will sort itself out, most likely in the cheap seats.
As for an ultras group, fair play to those who want to do it. I'll never slag anyone for trying to create an atmosphere, but if all you do is aim really crap songs at the away fans like H block do then I won't join in.
