Remember too that we'll be nearer the pitch and playing in a real football stadium. There are just so many positives about Falmer that I personally believe that creating an atmosphere will be a doddle. And we haven't even mentioned Gus Poyet's footballing revolution taking place.

Enjoy the North Stand, I will and I'll be sitting in the West Stand. Making noise.

I second what Wilco is saying, it probably will be a good atmosphere after years of putting up with woeful Withdean, just thinking of ways to make it tip top. Like yo say though Bwian, if Gus keeps us winning it will be a doddle to generate atmosphere

I would absolutely love this! Do a simliar thing to what the likes of York and Accrington are doing, with plenty of flags, and hopefully some flairs! That would be brilliant and would certainly be a great sight at Falmer, getting a proper Ultras section behind the goal

I'm struggling with the concept to be honest, appreciate you want to create an atmosphere but disagree with the categorisation of supporters.

Primarily because there are also people who go to the football for a beer, shout and laugh - not necessarily to sing along to some spotty 16 year old's version of when the saints go marching in on his trombone - who cringe at things like this, frankly with the best will in the world, it's never going to be as good as Germany - for one, our home end is about 5 times smaller.

If we are going down this route, how about a section in the East Stand where liked minded people can meet for a beer and laugh - only rules are no replica shirts worn over jumpers or bobble hats, definitely no rattles or flags - singing optional.

 Where to start with this post! I'm no spring chicken but it's got to be done!

Why are there so many pessimists who are already saying there'll be no atmosphere at Falmer? The stadium is designed for the noise to be kept inside the stadium-that alone will generate some atmosphere. A team playing decent football (and winning most home games) will naturally generate atmosphere as Withdean has proven in the past.

It makes sense for the North Stand to be the 'home end'. Just make sure you make as much noise as possible when we need it the most and the rest of the crowd will join in. They'll join in anyway-the reason they don't right now is, for example, nobody in E or D blocks can hear any songs in H block and vice versa.

Falmer will be fantastic for atmosphere-it's designed to be.

I'm not a pessimist, but intelligent to know people are creatures of habit. A silent Withdean = a silent Falmer unless someone organises something. I hate going to the Withdean, it's like watching cricket! Silence then the occasional round of applause. I don't want to have to sit in H Block to support the team.

Sorry folks but just about the last thing we need is a designated 'singing section'. It just smacks of dullness. Just let things roll out as the first season happens, not ask the club 'please sir, where can we sing?'.

The probability is that the north stand will make most of the noise, but it is also quite likely there will be little pockets of passionate fans tucked up near the away end. This would lead to a great all round atmosphere.

As for 'Ultra's'? Piss off to Selhurst!
