The kids and I had never played the games, but we enjoyed it.

It's a bit silly at times, for example (* minor spoiler) with Coop having no issues with T60s in the last episode, but not being able to shoot one in the first/second episode.
This is what I was wondering, it's based (more than based, it's remarkably loyal to the game) on a computer game after all. I absolutely loved it, I will be booting up the unused desktop and playing fallout 4 again. This transition to TV should be held as the gold standard for how it should be done

She was cryogenically frozen, yes.

I don't think they said that during in the season. We saw a tank for Hank in volt 31, but since Moldaver was their enemy it's less clear how she did it

Remember playing fallout 1 and 2 along with command and conquer on the pc back in the day, loved them games. Never played the later ones as serious things in life took over from gaming!
Might have to give this a watch.

Incidentally, Fallout 4 has become one of the best selling games in Europe since the series dropped. Not bad for an almost 10 year old game.

I'm in that group. Got it last week.

I've got Fallout 4 downloaded on my PS5 eagerly awaiting the new update

Oo I didn't know that. Do you know if you'll have to start a new game, or if the update will work with old saves?

Can I ask some questions so I know whats what before watching episode 2

Are there more characters to introduce in the same fashion or are these the main 3 ?
Does it get better from here or tread water ?
and I presume these characters all come together/connect at some point ?

These are obviously spoilers.
- There are plenty of characters you get to know, but those are the main 3
- My daughter wasn't fussed by the first episode, and she liked the rest more
- Yes

I may be misremembering but isn't maximus in the earlier T51 armour? Possibly without the dodgy welding of the T60.
Or maybe it's the tempered lining. Either way I think the creators are geeky enough that it doesn't break in series logic.

No, he wears the T60.

Well they messed up. Poor writing to be honest.

Bethesda themselves have confirmed your save data will transfer over, no need to start a new game. I haven't played it for so long that I'll start from scratch.
The update is released on the 25th I believe.

Absolutely! Each game takes part in a different part of the country, minimum of decades apart, with its own vault dweller/protagonist (the game’s version of Lucy) which you customise. Whilst it’s nice to know the lore and universe, given that every game is canonical in the fictional world, it is absolutely not necessary. They’re designed to stand alone - as with the show - but fans can enjoy little Easter eggs and in-jokes without anyone being left behind.

Most people started the series with Fallout 3 or New Vegas, when the game went into a 3D open world, rather than the turn based 2D overhead view of the first two games. Similar to Grand Theft Auto - it exploded when it went open world first person.

You don’t need to know anything. Just go and explore and have an absolute blast.

Next week a 60fps version launches for PS5, or if you’re on PC the same version is already available. Perfect time to start playing!
Thanks. Was £4 on PS5 last week so can’t go wrong with that.

Here and There
Started Fallout 4 couple of weeks ago, but had to stop as it was a buggy mess. I had two missions that just didn't 'complete', leaving the character I was supposed to talk to to continue the missions just standing in the same spot not doing anything. Thought I'd give it another go when the update for the X:S comes out.

For now, I'm playing Fallout: New Vegas, which seems to be running OK so far.

Hmmm. It’s okay I guess. Plenty of better things to watch out there. Seems a bit like a marketing ploy for the game franchise tbh, which incidentally, seems to be working.
