I was thinking what world facts and british facts in history should everyone know and do they?

Ill start off.

England won their one and only soccer world cup in 1966.
The 'Unsinkable' Titanic hit an iceberg and sank in 1912.

The 'unsinkable' Titanic was never described as unsinkable until after she sank.

Not true... Henry IV in 1399? Henry Tudor in 1485? William of Orange and the Dutch in 1688? the French in 1216? Steven and Mathilda in 1139. There have been several invasions - not all very well known today.
