Never be tempted to use BROCCOLI as a stylus for you hi-fi, it is utterly rubbish at audio reproduction.

You are forgetting the great mushroom famine of 1949, which, when you remember rationing was still in place in large cities, resulting in very few mushrooms being available to cinematic directors.

A replacement was needed and after a long drawn out radio series "How do you solve a problem like no mushrooms" the public voted in BROCCOLI as the mushroom short term replacement.

The mushroom made its comeback in 1958 in the film "Bomb the slitty eyed bastards" (5.8) , a film many viewed at the time as a major contributor to the start of the Vietnam conflict.
