The correct response to his mistakes is to shrug shoulders and revisit in 2 or 3 years, but football moves fast and message boards demand oxygen.
Yes but remaining silent about where we could improve and areas we made mistakes is ONE response. One unlikely shared by the majority of football fans subscribed to football social media forums!

Some NSCers are a bit too Chickin Licken, some too Pollyanna but the majority of us I like to think, have realistic expectations and are fair minded in our critiques.

Don’t be so daft and you are still being very patronising 😉- FYI I am allowed to give a critique when things don’t go well. If I didn’t think he was making the cut or not doing well as a manager I would have said so 🤷🏻‍♂️

Just because I picked the guy out as being better than any options that were being publicly touted last May and had a gush over his record in the Bundesliga with St Pauli, it doesn’t mean I am going to be a starry eyed, Hürzeler groupie.

I’m surprised you find it so upsetting that anyone could be less than full of blind adoration or one should refrain from commenting in any weaknesses in our tactics and game plans at times.

I haven’t attacked the bloke, just said playing 3 at the back with Van Hecke isn‘t working and was a mistake.

Nothing Hürzeler hasn’t said himself after the performance tonight.
He's making loads of mistakes. I'm just surprised that people are getting so earnestly frustrated about it, hence the patronising tone.

*Actually, of course I'm not surprised.

Clearly there is also huge promise alongside the mistakes.

Tell us about the promise. We could see RDZ’s style for example high press and overloading in attacking areas.
He quickly turned us to one of the top scorers across Europe.
I think we have got worse since the Everton opener. For some reason he’s changed from those early games we looked competent against Arsenal moving the ball quickly in attack.
We have gone to slow tippy tap passing getting nowhere fast.

Geez KG - I literally critiqued his use of VH when playing 3 at the back that’s all..

I’m not ‘people’ and honestly not getting frustrated with FH. I also don’t think he’s making ‘loads’ of mistakes - yes, some mistakes - but sometimes we lose simply because the other team played better or were more lucky with marginal calls.

I do get frustrated though when we lose matches on fine margins because we have got sloppy or can’t maintain consistency for more than 45 mins. And I do get frustrated when we needlessly dropped points in matches we should have put in the bag based on performance but I’m not sure either of those are down to the relative inexperience of the manager - perhaps more to do with the inexperience of players?

Hmm there is a reason why literally every club in the PL want Ferguson he is a serious talent. FH gives him five minutes here and there and wonders why we don’t win.
Welbeck has had a great start to the season although he’s not the future.
I’m more interested in why when Fergie does play, he fails to score - that started last season when he had plenty of minutes before becoming injured - Welbeck and Pedro have been fantastic this season - surely Ferguson has to earn his place in the start like every other player signed to the squad?

We can’t carry people that for whatever reason are not performing to the level we need that is what loans are for.

5th on the table in his first go at this level after doing nothing but winning at St Pauli is his promise.

Turning around the clusterfuck of the last six months of RDZ so quickly is his promise.

Having us all* enjoying this season immensely is his promise

I have no doubt there are more experienced managers out there that could get more out of this squad, but they're probably out of our reach. I also have no doubt that FH could get more out of more experienced squads. But we're a development team chasing extremely high ceilings, not settling for a stable floor. To be honest it's insane we're 5th in the league.

The reason we're not going to get a top 6 finish this season is exactly the same reason we feel were challenging for it at this moment in time. Extremely talented, extremely inexperienced groups of people will produce the highs of City and the frustrations of Wolves.

*present company excepted

Simply horse shit , Wolves he took off our three best players in one hit for whatever reason no manager does that.
Southampton got out thought by Russel Martin, tonight was a shit show can you imagine how pissed of Ferguson must of felt, no Welbeck and he plays Pedro as a striker and then a left winger on the right leaving £100m worth of right sided players on the bench.
Went to a 3 to accommodate Dunk just because he’s fit again after the defence had not really been conceding many in the last month he’s been out.
We have a very talented assembled expensive squad thanks to Mr Bloom and some how he’s already got a disgruntled dressing room.

People getting carried away by early season results really shouldn’t it’s the same every year and we haven’t won any games we should be winning with the talent here now.
I’m not denying we’ve had some good wins although it’s all for nothing if we can’t build on those wins and we haven’t been able to.

Yet that’s exactly what he did against Southampton and again tonight. I think he’ll revert to the back four. In my opinion he picked a back three tonight to accommodate Dunk, with both Igor and Van Hecke playing too well to drop. I think it was a mistake.
Agree on your first point apart changing formation within the game, but the reason for me was down to three of our four RBs being injured and the final one either can't play (much) more than 45 minutes or isn't up to the standard, potentially both.

You are hugely over rating Ferguson and wrongly using him as a stick to beat FH. He’s not picking Ferguson because he offers nothing at the moment and ALL of our other attackers are better options. He’s miles behind Welbeck.

Ferguson has scored 1 goal in his last 1,000 minutes of club football in a side that create lots of chances. That’s damning. There’s no way he’s the answer currently.

I’m still not convinced. We’ve played well in patches but haven’t had a complete performance yet and I think we’ve had a few lucky results. With the players he’s had available to him this season, I think we should be playing better.
