Like I said above, tonight was an excruciating watch. However, if Enciso's early shot went in, it would've been a different story.

Obviously, this winless run has been a testing time but I'm not going to throw my toys out of the pram any time soon. We're you expecting us to romp to the title?

So far this season, we've looked like we might challenge for Europe, which is good enough for me. It's not as if we're leaking goals every week and languishing in the bottom half.

I'm not sure what tactical tweaks we need to make but I do think we've got a Danny Welbeck shaped hold up front.

Like I said earlier, if we can’t pick up wins at home against the likes of Wolves, Southampton, Brentford, Ipswich and Palace (off the top of my head) then something IMO isn’t working.

I do agree about Wellbecks absence and Fergusons disappearance though.

Let’s all chill, have a wonderful evening.

Totton (Nr Southampton)
The fella managed a german league second division side and had no pedigree of playing any great standard. How much resprect do the squad have ? several older than him and his pre and post match interviews are awful with absoluetly zero inspiration or charisma. Nah wrong choice. We will achieve nothing with this fella in charge. Tony dropped the ball here
Totally agree. Sammi H Mk11

I think the problem with a lot of these takes is that people are criticising an inexperienced coach for being inexperienced. Thats unfair. Which means people aren't really criticising Hurzeler, they're criticising Bloom. Which isn't really the done thing round here, but if you feel frustrated that we have an inexperienced coach that's on Bloom, not on Fab, and you should direct your ire that way.

Personally, I wonder if we really needed to roll the dice on such inexperience, when you look at the likes of Nuno, Howe, Emery, Silva doing so well could we have found similar - or an Ireola or RDZ with top-flight experience overseas - but Bloom likes investing in potential and being different.

So, either we go with TB's vision and accept the teething problems, or we criticise TB's process. But Fab is precisely what we should all have known he was at this stage of his career, and its unfair to criticise him for being exactly what it said on the tin.

Hurzeler is a young manager who is learning, so we need to be patient with him... a lot like our squad.

We are still in the mix for Europe. We are still putting in decent performances. We are still picking up points.

The football we're playing has been entertaining under Hurzeler.

To be honest, I'm not sure what our fans really expect for a club of our size.

A club of our size made the Europa League not so long ago. Not only made it but topped the qualifying group. That was all down to an excellent forward thinking manager.

I don't expect, but really, really want to see us in Europe again.

I hope I'm wrong but I don't see that happening with FH.

This season with a change of personnel and bedding in 9 new players and a new style was always going to be a consolidation season.

As frustrating as the result was today we still played some great stuff and he had my backing. A lot of this is on individual performances and decision making tonight

We are still top 10
What is the new style? It seems to be an uncertain hybrid of pass it out from the back or just hoof it up the field..I think everyone’s frustration is down to us being far more fluid and dangerous this time last year. We have no bite now.

I don’t know what it is and I don’t think some of the players do either hence why it’s a consolidation season

Young manager with some good credentials.
But with a really good squad IMO, with experienced, and ambitious players, and fan and board expectations.
Always going to be a big ask.
If the expectation is champions league or Europe league ur squad is insufficient at CB, RB, LB, CM and CF.

A partner for Baleba is taking time to bed in. Without Welbeck up front our play does not sgel, Joao Pedro is not a number 9. Who knows what is going on with Ferguson, but he is missing and needed.

We need to be hold our nerve while the manager sorts this out and gets everyone up to speed.

Tony gets things wrong, he’s human. Trouble with investing in potential is that old enemy: time. But unless something goes disastrously wrong Fab is safe until next season. This one already feels like treading water until then.

Yep. I'm very much of the view this is a transitional season, with young players and a young manager new to this league and this level of play, so expected it to be bumpy.

But had hopes of noticeable improvement over time and after Chelsea away (as an example) , we seemed to learn from that and improve.

Not so much over the past few games, and if anything, the quality has dropped.

Now that may be due to confidence, but you'd hope at the very least you could see what the team are trying to achieve and at the moment I'm not sure 😕

Others have mentioned a feeling of 'Meh' at our current, overall, positive position.

This is where I'm at. Little excitement during the games. Even when we are in a positive position on the pitch, I've little confidence we will score, other than from luck.

Under RDZ two seasons ago, even when we went behind, I felt we still had the ability to win. Easily. That's gone and sadly I don't know when that is likely to return, but I hope it's sooner rather than later.

Feelings are strong stuff but we've already turned around two deficits (City & Spurs) into wins this season, which is as many as under RDZ in 2022/23. Two losses-into-wins is about what you can expect. Throwing away 2-0-leads is a more unusual and problematic issue.

Especially to us given we've been quite good at it. IIRC under Potter we didn't lose any of the 20 last games where he was in charge of a lead. Also under De Zerbi we were better than average at retaining the lead.

This season so far we've had the lead 13 times and only ended up winning 6 of those. Its a little bit too bad.

You can tell that the players really are struggling to figure out what style of football to play by looking at one player tonight - Bart. Had no idea what to do in starting our play so just stood there dumbfounded with the ball at his feet with fans screaming at him. Not great

10th in the table, 3 points off 5th. You lot are massive babies.

That was frustrating. In fact, excruciating. But a little patience would be nice before we get the knives out.
I get your view 100% but, in a season where City, united spurs and villa are inconsistent, it could be so much better for us. Instead, we've got Forest Fulham and Bournemouth showing us how to make the most of the so called big boys wobbling.
