Something that hasn't been touched on from what I can see, is for all those pro sacking FH, who would you replace him with?
There seems to be two camps for this. Team DeZerbi or Team Potter

Or the oft mentioned Mr AN experienced manager 😂

Brentford used one corner routine obviously from the training ground and should have scored. Let me know the last time we used a corner routine.

Our set pieces are clueless. This makes we wonder about all the rest of our attacking.

Our defending tonight was shambolic. How we escaped with one point was down to luck.

Seriously what coaching is being given to these players?

The wrong subs for a while now and why the multiple subs? We're worse after them.

We've nicked a few wins this season. Without them we would be around 16th and with our current form we'd be heading for trouble.
That reads like catastrophizing to me.

Teams don't 'nick' wins against Citeh, United and Spuds.

Er, hang on......actually...... :shootself

:lolol:

So basically a raft of discussion about historic "what could have happened", which is totally irrelevant to the current situation being discussed. Do love people who shoot from the hip with no viable alternative plan. Wouldn't it be great if TB sacked the 31yo FB (because let's face facts, it's the age/experience thing that appears to be the issue) and replaced him with a 25yo retired left back from the Mid Sussex League who's just started taking his coaching badges ;)

Having had time to reflect on last night I am perhaps even more annoyed and frustrated.

I didn't boo, and I don't think I'm a knee jerk reactionary but we haven't played a good full 90 mins all season.

The team/squad has potential. The 1st half against liverpool is as good as I have ever seen us play. But we are too reliant on one or 2 players and the manager hasn't been able to rework things to accommodate their loss. And I maintain we have no signature style or structure

We may well go and win our next 2 given they're against stronger teams but if we lose both we could well be playing utd in a battle for 14th and 15th place in 22 days time

We are toothless.
Yeah, but that's because our best striker is injured (Welbeck), our second best striker is in total crisis (Ferguson) and Enciso, Pedro, Mitoma, Adingra, et al KEEP missing total sitters. How many shots went over the bar last night? And not close, miles over. Plus, Pedro (despite his shirt number) is categorically NOT a #9 in the sense Welbeck or Ferguson are.

We aren't toothless. We have plenty of teeth, they just can't bite the apple

I wish the Numptys would just calm down. They should go to the bank ,take all their money out and go buy themselves a clue. Currently out injured are Welbeck, Wiefer, Hihshelwood,Kadiogu, Milner, Ferguson with Webster not yet ready Nad Gomez available from the 1/1/2025. Lots to look forward to dont you think?

Anyway, back on topic. This is a stupid topic. Of course it's Hurzeler in. As long as we stay in the Premier League, which we will, Hurzeler should get at least 18 months

It was a chance but it wasn’t close because he headed it straight at the keeper. So he muffed two really good chances and had a bunch of other shots that were probably 0.01 xG, because ever since he got nominated for a Puskas award he thinks he can do that every time he gets the ball.

His personal xGf must have been around 1.0 by the end but his actual goals scored were 0 and, in reality, he spent most of the night ruining our attacks at the last moment.
But he made the crowd go "oooh!"

In fact he did it so many times that people decided to repeat it just as the game ended.

Shirley thats what really matters?

Totally agree. Let's not also forget injuries to Veltman, Dunk, Estupinan, Ayari, Pedro. Lamptey, March, Minteh, O'Riley and Enciso...

Totally clueless

GET RID!!!
That's a fair few posters, can we ban them for this?

Just to be clear and to avoid any further bed-wetting I can confirm I am joking about this.

Perhaps buy yourself some reading glasses. Milner being injured isn't a shock. That we don't have a replacement in the squad is. Same with welbeck. That our manager hasn't been able to conjur up a plan to accommodate an easily foreseen situation is a worry.

There may be lots to look forward to but that doesn't help our current situation of 4 points from a possible 18 against many of the bottom half of the table.

Amd if that makes me a numpty for feeling that way, then so be it. But knee jerk reactions are not my thing and perhaps we have a version of the emperors new clothes going on and it's the supposedly naive ones who can see it whilst the supposedly learned ones can't?

22%. Be interesting to see how much that figure goes up if we lose our next two games, which is perfectly feasible. Not that polls makes a blind bit of difference to anything in the real world
Yes, Villa will want to bounce back after (what they say) was an unjust red card and Arsenal can score for fun against weaker defences. Its entirely possible we could get hammered in both games which will alter the swing on a meter🙂

I don’t think we should count injuries when they are better and back again. By that measure we could claim we are still missing Lallana and Murray.

The biggest thing for me is that the players don't look like they're enjoying themselves. Even when we were winning I thought the body language of some of the players was pretty poor.

I think that's honestly impacting on how we're playing and some of the in-game decisions being made. Whether or not that comes down to FH, I 100% think there's something not right somewhere.

Wait, Murray and Lallana are in this season's squad? My point is, we've had masses of injuries ALL season. Fan has yet to have a 90% fit squad, lett alone a 100% one

I was just teasing but honestly, show me any team in the PL that doesn’t have a lot of injuries? I don’t think there’s any that don’t. Injuries are a fact of life and one teams have to deal with.
