I'm going to start with Liam Gallagher. I met him in the Hard Rock hotel in Vegas at about 3am (10 years ago). I was pretty smashed so went up for a chat (not many people around to be honest) and he was exactly as you seem him the media. Exactly. I was sort of impressed.

Brian Johnston. He was frail, a little bit vague, but utterly lovely. Exactly as you'd have expected.

Fatima Whitbread was lovely.

I think she's going on that jungle celebrity thing you know. I'm sure I heard her name mentioned in connection with that today (and a load of people I've never heard of).

Snoop Dogg. Expected the Mr Big, bling bling, stoned out of his head, rap megastar, and got exactly that. Seemed a pretty nice bloke for all that, mind. Probably the weed.

Alex Higgins at Epsom Derby. It was 11am in the morning and he was incomprehensible with booze. My mate and I chatted to him for about 15 minutes, although to be fair we couldn't understand a word he was saying, but he was happy and friendly. Didn't see him after that. The following day I noticed he was on the front page of the NOTW being ejected from the course for being lairy and sh*tfaced.

Met Glen Murray once.
Shook his hand and he went down appealing for a penalty.

Bobby Zamora - lovely fella. I bumped into him in Covent Garden on the evening of the Saturday after we'd lost at home to Sheffield United thanks to Mr Prosser's horrendous refereeing decisions. I still had the match programme in my pocket. He was out with his girlfriend, but didn't seem to mind at all about being harranged by a mad Brighton fan. I spoke to him about what had happened at the game and expected him to be as fuming as I was, but all he said 'Yeah, I don't know how he could awarded those'. Very calm about it in the circumstances!

Not a famous person, but when I worked for Amex I worked on a project that involved spending a lot of time talking to a German colleague in Frankfurt and I ended up building a mental picture of a short, fat, balding man with glasses. Eventually I had to go out to Frankfurt to meet him, and I was absolutely 100% right!

Roy Walker in Edinburgh during the Fringe a few years ago, real gent. We'd been to see him do a show earlier in the day and bumped into him later, he remembered us from his show (we'd been sat front row) and was happy to pose for a few photos with us. Infact pretty much everyone famous I've met during the Fringe has turned out to be really nice.

Dick Knight. Doesn't matter who you are, he's got time for you and will talk on Albion matters, at length and completely without discretion, for as long as it takes for you to finally shake the bugger off!

Met Tim Westwood when working the door at the ocean rooms and he was as big a numpty as he sounds on the radio.

Also met Mark Morrison who was a conplete tool and genuinely gutted that on that evening he wasn't the biggest "name" in that venue - Mike Tyson was, who normally i'd have said was a bit of a tosser but compared to mr Morrison was rather friendly. Incidentally Tyson is as scary as f*** close up but nowhere near as scary as his own security
